It's odd how dumb people are to buy into the hype of Ronda Rousey and the weak women's divison in the UFC.

She literally fought part-time fighters, and other scrubs the UFC could throw together in the division.

When she actually fought someone who actually had talent, training, and experience she got destroyed.

But, go back to believing the hype.

Yes, and no doubt she would.  The only thing I have offered in this thread about Rousey is that height, weight, and muscle mass advantages are hard to overcome even when facing an opponent with less skill, in this case a trained high school wrestler.

I cannot vouch for FightTheFuture, but as for myself I am at a great disadvantage.  I have no formal training in martial arts, or any combat experience, or fighting experience other than a few scuffles in high school.

Also, as a man I already have built in mechanisms to not cause harm to women.

So, yes in my case if I was to meet Rousey on the street I would neither have the training or killer instinct against a female to put up much of a fight.

However the talent pool the new division started with wasn't that strong, and Rousey had one technique she used to her advantaged.  Her mastery of the arm bar submission.  I think she submitted 90% of her opponents with an arm bar submission.  She was able to do this since she had been training Judo since her childhood.

It was a weak division, with most female fighters only fighting part-time, as opposed to the men's division which had a deep talent pool of full-time fighters.

Yes she was dominate in the newly created division, and the UFC had reason to Hype Rousey up, to get more female fans into watching the UFC.  The hype machine was born.

I don't believe the fights were rigged, and I believe Rousey won each of those fights fairly, I just don't believe the hype of her being a top fighter.  She just was the best of the assorted talent the UFC could find to fill the division.

Now that there is more money the UFC can attract better and more talented female fighters, and Rousey most likely will never win a match again, or even return to the UFC.

Sure. Like the Bobby Riggs etc stuff (and some even say most of those were rigged/fixed.) But take the same age, training, etc and, in most- not all, sports or competition there will be differences. And you also are mixing things with your example. Rules are different from HS wrestling to MMA. And likewise MMA versus 'non-sport' fighting. There are examples but, for the most part, why "sports" has things like different genders, weight limits, handicapping, etc.

If you would look above, I didnt make the comparison, which is partly the reason it's laughable.

US women's soccer team plays against U-17 boy's team, they lose.

US Olympic Women's Hockey Team plays against a high school boys team, they lose.

Also saying height and weight doesn't matter only reflects how little you know in combat sports.

All of your comparisons are comparing men and women trained in the same discipline.

A Rhonda Rousey TYPE (again-TYPE) is going to destroy some averge thinks he is tough guy male.  Sometimes excessive size is a detriment and long bones add more leverage against joints/ligaments/tendons.  Muscle only adds strength in the natural range of motion axis of the joint, and even then, only when the muscle is partially contracted.  Any hyperextension of the joint, is going to happen regardless of size/weight.  Even if you could take the pain, in most ring fighting today, the ref will stop the fight.(but not always)

Of course weight/size matters when comparing trained/in shape athletes.  The average male is far from an athlete, and even farther from having trained muscle memory to throw a punch with any confidence. Or to have a working knowledge of grappling and submission/choke or LOC holds, pressure points etc etc.

If you cant see the logic in my posts, you're certainly the type of guy a trained and succesfull female fighter would embarass. I know plenty about hand to hand, fuck the sports part of it.
