You're right. It's probably closer to 8. 9 if you count Art. Do you think he's still listening?

He probably is, and I have no interest in trashing Heather and kicking at her or Art while he's dealing with his issues. Why you're kicking mystifies me. What's the point?

Let's see your list of "average streaming radio" that runs from nine to midnight on the west coast (God's Coast) and takes live unscreened calls and discusses Bigfeet. I'm serious, I'm factually interested. Who are the hosts of all these "above average" shows? I wanna tune in, I'm not married to this chick.

Yet.

Fucker!  I'm drinking Scotch here.  Out my burning nostrils.....

I'm kinda surprised Heather played the "announcement" out that way. Maybe after an hour. Tops. She had to have known most people would assume it would be Art.

That was a classic Art Bell move. She leant it from the master. A classic fake out.

Jackyboy, I thought you were immune to street cred.

Close. It's cunts that I'm immune to. I was just letting him know that he jumped the shark.

The whole WTC complex of buildings, including the Twin Towers, never really existed. It was all a cleverly crafted illusion that lasted for decades.

The same way I feel about MITD now.

Yeah, you're already gonna be cut off from the open bar. We're gonna need a piper, though. Here, put on this kilt, you fairy.

If that was a classic Art Bell move, and with the enormous amount of old shows, it must be quite easy for you to find Art doing this.

Could you tell us what shows he does this, if it is so classic to you and you are so versed in Art doing this?

Fine. You enjoy incredibly below average streaming radio. That doesn't mean dissenters have be silenced to protect your fragile little psyche

No, I one of the people who want to support Heather and encourage her growth as a host and interviewer. I sent her some guest suggestions the other day.

Right, absolutely, no doubt, she had to have known that.

I guess. This is finally the end. Sucks it had to truly end this way.

If you don't remember Bell pulling this shit all the time you either never listened to him or you're taking the piss. Either way, the archives are at your disposal--exit, stage left.

I don't see this ending soon. Bell has enough money to float this until he dies. BELIEVE IT.

I wonder if keeping it a secret as much as possible was to keep certain other shows off balance? Just a thought.

I bet the only one who is paying to keep this afloat is poor Keith.

It's over. I'm fairly patient wih Art's antics, and I'm not interested anymore. I know that is just my opinion; terminal velocity reached. *splat*

other shows?

buddy this show is hosted by a forum poster from an art bell fansite,  all the affiliates are gone, people have lost their job, the network is on it's last legs.

As much as I would like to believe Art is swimming in a pit of money like Uncle Scrooge, he's probably got less money than we thing he does. Probably not enough to just throw down a hole to keep MITD around w/o him.

I agree with you in principle, but that doesn't mean that the "network" will vanish, such as it is. Maybe we'll have to stop hearing ABBA twice a night--oh, woe.

I have noticed a lack of Enya lately. But maybe that's because Heather really isn't into the sex dungeon kind of thing

I needn't speculate as to the exact value, as it is self-evident that he has enough. It does not cost very much money to stream. If not for the music licensing costs, this would barely ever even come up in discussion.

Besides--we know he's saving all that money on security

You'd think if Art was really rolling in the dough that he would be living in a place that was way more secure than this Nye county compound.

Right, absolutely, no doubt, she had to have known that.

I have nothing against (Redacted), although I didn't tune in to MITD for any of Art's shows, and haven't for hers either.  So tonight I have time, see there's about 15 minutes left in the show, and decide to tune in.  Just in time to hear the big tease.

Given Art's recent Hamlet-like comments about coming back to the show sometime, maybe, and the suspicions about him getting his jollies jerking people around, pushing this 'big announcement at the end of the show' seems awfully ill advised.  Is this really the way to build a listener base?

Only if you're following the strategy laid out in "The Producers." But that had the advantage of being a very funny comedy. This isn't funny.

I dunno PB.

What a bunch of shit to paddle through, huh? Art has left the main building. Depending on which side of the road one has placed their beach chair, I guess building a listener base is important. However, to me, I don't think there is that much of a strategy. I think the motorcycle is still new and the rider is still learning the sharp curves. And doing well keeping the bike stable, that is how I see it.

Chris Carter, grasping for interviews? Somehow, I don't think that is the case. I am pretty sure, he can hit the main stage anytime he wants.

So back to good radio or not? Heck, it's a radio show on the internet. I will be listening tomorrow night, unless I fall asleep.
