NASA has an IV&V Facility in Fairmont, WV. They have a website. I was the PM for all of the IV&V projects on unmanned spacecraft  for low earth orbit. Contractors did all of the technical work.

Before that I worked for a company that began as Intermetrics->AverStar ->Titan -> L3 that did all of the IV&V on all of the manned programs and all of the planetary missions.

Basically a bunch of geeks trying to find something wrong with everything we looked at.

When we started we had to develop our own techniques for analysis of plans, requirements, design, code, test plans/scripts/results.

I worked with some very intelligent engineers and got exposure to a lot of cool technology. Developed a lot of cool technology too.
