How the man can reconcile in his mind doing a guest stint on C2C versus any loyalty or respect he's professed for Art Bell really does show what he's made of.
And I scrape that off my shoe.

Anybody else wonder how many more of these shenanigans it will take before Art just says "fuck it" and throws in the towel.  Why subject himself to this when he had already built an empire from the ground up and proven himself?  Now he gives unknown hosts a bit of help at the start and (some) basically give him the finger.

And maybe, Art being Art, will do it his way.  Give the whole faithless world the finger and 'cast it his way.  Like it, Love it, Listen.  Don't dig what he's laying down?  Go suck on the black hole that is Jorch and the fallen.
Art?  If you see this post, 'All jokes and grabass aside. Fuck 'em.  Fuck 'em all.  Do the 'cast.  Pod, broad, on the back of a yack using a solar powered HF set,  we'll listen. Do it your way brother!  You're the only one that can. '

I doubt George would greenlight someone who he thought could replace him.
I agree that George probably doesn't think Jimmy could replace him. Heck, Clear Channel/iFartRadio/WhateverTheHellsItsNamed probably doesn't think so either. But Jimmy might. Maybe instead of the next Art, he's gunning to be the next Noory in his own mind.

*shudder* ...the next Noory....

Say what you will about Noory's product, but the dude is getting paid. If all you look at is the paycheck, he's making out.

Bateman's point about conquering the competition through acquisition made me think. What's the real future of Coast? Do they let it keep declining because it fills time? Do they even care, or are they riding it out until it's replaced by political talk for truckers?

astroguy

For the record, the opinions on this thread are not my own, I was just wondering what had happened to make him host for Coast.  I choose to remain neutral in these things and not burn bridges that might have me in an interview. :)

I have heard from sources who would know that Noory's annual contract is worth $4M.  So I would agree with this sentiment.  Regardless of if you like him or not, like his work or not, someone thinks he's worth a lot, and it's working for him.  Though whenever I hear his plug for, "We need another 2500 Facebook followers this month!" I can't help but think it's the higher-ups testing him to see if he can pull it off.

That audio gave me the creeps. How can people not know they are being lied to? I admit to enjoying a few of his earlier shows, but no matter how much I liked it loyalty comes first. And none of these people are close to Art or the way he held my interest. I still would rather listen to old Art shows than anything new, and that's saying something.

b_dubb

Yeah I've never been able to get more than a few minutes into one of his shows before I bail. It's 1000% bullshit.

It's refreshing to have a new host to dislike.  I'm trying to diversify my hater's portfolio.

PSHHHHHHH! I disliked JC when he was still underground. Now he's hosting sundays on coast and everybody suddenly dislikes him.

$4 mil a year?  It almost makes me want to become a commie.  At least somebody like Rush is competent.

‘Author Robert M. Stanley claims he discovered, what he believes to be this ancient structure, in 2010 by looking at Google maps on his computer. When he contacted an old friend who lives in that area, he was told that he knew about the presence of this structure for 10 years. His friend had recorded HAM radio signals coming from it, and it was his belief that the structure was a large spacecraft that had taken residence here perhaps since ancient times.’

Your spelling of uguise is beyond funny. Thank you for the entertainment. Now if only someone in radio was that entertaining then we would be in business. 4 million, I can't even imagine that amount. God I would never have to worry about anything again. Sigh.

Well, Idunno, PBS.  I think you should take that Avatar shot and copyright the image and sell posters  MMMMM.  Tasty.  I mean, I'm just sayin'.....it's all about setting up multiple streams of income, right?
You could be well on the way to that 4 mill and more.

In radio?   I wonder if I could call Art in and he and I could.....yeah, that's the ticket....and PBS would be the voice of reason btwn our manic shenanigans.

Who's got the area code for Pahrump?  PBS, me and Art, we got a future to wrangle!

Why does Jimmy Church need to host C2C on Sundays? That's Knapp's domain.

paladin1991

PremRat is going to take The Knapster out into the Nevada desert and put a bullet in his head.  The bastards have been gunning for him ever since they shitcanned Wells.  It's a conspiracy I tell you.

Knapp only hosts the 3rd and 4th Sundays of the month.
Noory hosts the first Sunday of the month.
The 2nd Sunday used to be John Wells and before him Ian Punnett, so its an open guest host slot now (for auditions?)

qaddisin

Think we just found out what Art thinks Church and Rowland are made of.

Jimmy needs to stop saying he is filling in for Art Bell because thats Bullshit.

Really secret Nazi cult is the topic

QuotePeter Levenda returns to his quest for the truth about the true character of the Nazi cult and its influence. He joins guest host Jimmy Church (email) to discuss the existence of a Nazi underworld in Asia, and the nexus of religion, terrorism and occult beliefs revealed to be the real domain of the threat to global security. First hour guest, forensic geologist Scott Wolter talks about his History Channel show America Unearthed and his mission of using science and intuitive theories to explain the most mysterious artifacts and sites in America.

Ironically I am trying to save to go to the desert, well sort of. LOL. So this isn't so far from the truth. And you're too kind. It was just me messing around some Halloween fanged selfies.

As far as doing radio with anyone (except Snoory) I'm in. Speaking of which I'm going to be calling into a show tonight :)

And secret Nazi cults? Sigh. More bad radio.

Like trying to play Fisbin for the first time. Except when it's Tuesday of course.

I add a correction:
A ham radio enthusiast captured audio of the strange radio signals emitted from the ‘ship’, which some believe has been known about by indigenous Chumash people for thousands of years.

‘Every day I would come across these signals,’ says Mr Emmett, 93, who has been an amateur radio operator since 1938.

‘The amazing thing about them is that they are steady as you like. I knew the signal had to be extremely close.’

Mr Emmett says he tracked the source of these signals using a powerful antenna mounted on a four-wheel-drive truck - and found they hailed from a mysterious underwater structure near his property in Florida. NOT California.

"The structure was originally spotted by author Robert M Stanley - a friend of Mr Emmett's - who believes it may be a large alien craft which has lain underwater for thousands of years."

Me thinks it's Mr. Emmett's time. Aunty saw people staring at her in an empty room, before her time as well.
I have heard the signals and I am and have been a "Ham" since the 70's, and they are not aliens. Just communication signals used by everyday people and nations, as well as badly made Chinese electronic crap that radiates noise on planet Earth. 'Nuff said.

Funny...

So Jimmy is going to have Peter Levenda and Scott Wolter on Coast... Kind of disappointing because they are two guests who were recently on his show. Should put him in an easier position. I'm guessing they'll have him skip the "awww yeaaaah" chitchat at the top of the show.
