I could've misheard but I thought he mentioned that the cops sorta agreed on suspect? Not sure on wording or phrasing. I could totally be wrong and not heard that. In which case, sorry to confuse an already confusing issues. Blame it on having watched too much "Hunter" "Dirty Harry" etc in my past where cops "know" who the scum are- but paperwork, bosses, Constitution, prohibit the arrest of perp so hero needs to take them out. Haha.

lol one of us heard/missed something..could have been me..who knows..i am still sort of indifferent lol..but i have only been listening to Art since his return so thats most likely why

Good job, MV.  Looks like you got some nice exposure to a larger audience.  Can you give us an estimate of the numbers?

I refuse to ever believe Art lied whatsoever on Gabcast or about the whole ordeal.

Howard Hughes’ The Unexplained decided to go a different route.  His pre-recorded show was simply played here on Mondays, and nothing was going to change that. He never was LIVE, so there was no problem with us continuing to carry his show. So I’m sad to see him leave. Howard had been approached months ago, to do a LIVE 5-day a week program to be aired right before Art. Unfortunately, circumstances made that unable to happen.  It’s too bad, because Howard would have been the one to sit in for Art, had he already been doing a LIVE show here on DMDN. We really liked Howard’s show, style and broadcast professionalism.

http://midnightinthedesert.com/time-for-another-update-from-keith/

Art claimed that Howard Hughes was only up for a live lead in show for MITD but never an option for taking the actual MITD slot. Keith says otherwise in one of his DMDN updates.

Someone (Barfly?) on one of the discussion blogs mentioned that he thought he had known Heather's dad well, that he was a fine broadcaster, and that he really missed him.  Could Heather be the daughter of an old broadcasting compatriot of Art's?  Maybe he was trying to get her into the business as an old favor.

No. Heather is not Don and Roma Wade's daughter.

Great show, MV.  Your touch with Art was just right.  I hope he was serious when he said he'd consider doing a surprise show, see how that goes, and if it goes okay, doing another test show.  A test to see how his stalker responds.  Would be cool if Art could come back to doing, say, two nights a week of MITD.

Yep - fault him for his character if you must, but Art Bell is not a liar; never has been.

Hey, ..ART, you said this few days ago:

1). "I never lied to you on air or off, never."
OK, OK, but I'm confused here a bit,..what about this, that you said just next day:

2). "Despite what some say I think Heather is doing a amazing job"

I'm calling you Out - Art , one of those statements is a big fat stinky ...lie !!
Which one is a lie, the 1). one ,or the 2).  Art ??

phrodo

And the little piggy trolls continue to wallow in their shit. How nice.

Haha. TuneIn was great but think I got buffering issues. Plus watching hockey on silent whilst listening so I could've missed/misheard. In any event I still don't understand why Art wouldn't go for restraining orders and/or civil lawsuit(s.)
ps: At least with Art, I don't give a crap about personal life, politics, lies/truth, etc because I've loved the product- his shows- since the mid 90's. Actually, I've always cringed when he gets too personal about his life and family (especially back in the day) because I've always thought limit public information because crazy people out there. Even if I appreciated he, sorta, thought of his listeners like family or friends and would tell. But even IF, big IF, stories, life, stalkers, quitting, etc is a lie? Who cares? He had good radio. Worse as they were Woody Allen, Polanski, (several famous painters in the past) etc still made great movies or art. I know there is a moral ground I'm ambiguous on, admittedly. But there is a separation of product/art with personality/actions. At least maybe?

He said moving out of country might be a option. I Believe Heather is still being strung along, but Art did mention Heather should make the show her own, not keep the seat warm.

I really hope Heather is not just being strung along, and that Art seriously thinks he might return to MITD, even if not full-time, after the stalker situation resolves.  For if he knows he won't, deep down, and is just saying he might to string his fans along, and keep them listening to MITD in hope of his return, he's not a nice person.  I find it hard to believe he would so coldly use Heather in that way.

Just my impression, and I don't think she's being used, but her position in the scheme of things amount to the same thing.

Lest I dwell in the past, which I do too much, I would suggest getting the 'ultimate torrent' or youtubes or etc and listen to some of the old stuff. Great stuff, even on mundane stuff. And, even weirder, some of the topics of the day (besides some guests and paranormal) are subjects STILL being ranted and talked about today: Clintons, terrorism, diseases, immigration, gun rights, etc. Actually if you get a non-news or ad show one could listen and think: "it is a current show." Some sage-brush militia types holding Federal land, Clinton stuff, and then off to LMH and RCH for an update on something etc. Weird.

Considering "newspaper" articles and, worse, blogs have so many mistakes I don't mind that some random blog has mistakes. I hear that there is AI that can "write" some of the news feeds, not sure if true, but would make sense when one looks at the mistakes.

Because Art wanted her. His show, his rules

That's exactly the reason, short and sweet. Unfortunately, it's the wrong reason to pick a replacement. But fortunately, the audience is free to make its own rules (which are more important, in the final analysis).

I didn't listen, but I am curious if/how the show changed your opinion on the whole "Art quit MITD because of a terror stalker who he felt endangered him and his family" drama.  Not judging, nor do I care, if you believe or disbelieve the story, just interested in if anything you heard tonight changed what/how you believe.

No
