I don't get it, either. But it seems to make perfect sense to Art. What does this suggest about Art's thinking process, at least on this subject?

He said moving out of country might be a option. I Believe Heather is still being strung along, but Art did mention Heather should make the show her own, not keep the seat warm.

Appreciate the response, but I'm not really interested in the Heather aspect of the drama, as in whether she should/should not have gotten the show, she's terrible etc.  From my perspective she would not be there if Art had not quit, so did anything you heard tonight change what you believe relative to Art quitting?

It seems bizarre that Heather feels the need to get approval for new bumper music from Art (among other changes), yet he was on the Gabcast saying she needs to make the show her own. For me, the biggest headline to come out of the interview was that Art won't do five nights a week ever again. The biggest dodge was over the Keith Rowland DMDN update clearly stating that Howard Hughes would be in the MITD timeslot had he been doing a lead in show prior to Art stepping down. Either there is a serious miscommunication problem between Art and Keith or he was lying to cover for his protégé.

I still suspect that we have not been told the whole story but what I heard tonight was believable and Art was consistent.  I am not sure that we will ever hear the whole truth but I am now more at ease with the decisions that have been made.

No. It was a great show and Art/MV had interesting stuff to say but the only thing that piqued my interesting the 'stalker' drama was Art saying that things like restraining orders (and by my thought civil options) would only increase threat. I would think that would be, partially, the point. Draw out 'stalker' for an an arrest or shooting! I don't know why Art won't also go civil court actions, since he 'is pretty sure' he knows who it is and so are the cops. And Art has done the same before (and even recently threatened MV or a poster with defamation (libel) for a quick moment, than realized it was a non-issue.) Think OJ, etc. Get 'stalker' at least for $$$- that alone could dissuade him or cause him to escalate in which now you got him on criminal charges or shot dead.

I could've misheard but I thought he mentioned that the cops sorta agreed on suspect? Not sure on wording or phrasing. I could totally be wrong and not heard that. In which case, sorry to confuse an already confusing issues. Blame it on having watched too much "Hunter" "Dirty Harry" etc in my past where cops "know" who the scum are- but paperwork, bosses, Constitution, prohibit the arrest of perp so hero needs to take them out. Haha.

Sorry. Yeah, it changed a bit. He mentioned maybe moving out of the State's and doing private school for Asia (if I heard correctly), to me it lends some credence he's genuinely concerned with his security situation.

Someone (Barfly?) on one of the discussion blogs mentioned that he thought he had known Heather's dad well, that he was a fine broadcaster, and that he really missed him.  Could Heather be the daughter of an old broadcasting compatriot of Art's?  Maybe he was trying to get her into the business as an old favor.
