(The whole list is pretty amusing.)
The reason I'm saying "not quite" is because Heather has not disappeared. How is that like Cousin Oliver?

Right, I'm wondering if she's about to, given Art's sudden deletion of promotional posts.

This was predicted about a month ago...odds on when the next FB post says something like, "I did all I could do for her."
"and it's all BellGab's fault."

It sort of feels like people were playing along with her in the chair maybe still clinging to a faint hope that he'd return in some manner again, but moving to 5 hours somehow became just too much to bear! And the more he tried to gin up excitement for the 5 hrs the less receptive people were.
Yup +1 The move to 5 hours just cemented the permanence of the "temporary" host.

Art can handle 5 hours.  Heather simply can't. It is not a put-down but Heather is not as interesting as Art.

Did something happen?
I work over in shipping and receiving so all this sales department drama is over my head.

I truly could not see myself listening to Art for 5 hours straight. Maybe one night a week if I was interested in the guest/topic.

Frankly I never heard a solid 5 hours of Art either but I know many people did. Beyond 3 just gets tough for me to stay interested, let alone finding a practical way to listen for that long...only so much commute or gym time for me in a day. Maybe if I were an overnight long haul trucker.

Chefist, BRILLIANT!  That'll surely be his angle. Probably followed by allegations of her stealing pens, or post-its.

I've heard 5 hours of Art and Ian before... Ian's would have been due to "Fall back...."... The station I usually listened to when I was a teen replayed the first hour of the show at the end of the show (5am to 6am), but if Art did an extra hour they played that instead.... Sometimes Art would send a message to the affiliates giving them a heads up that he was going long.... IIRC, he would do this for Ghost to Ghost or The New Years' shows. Night of 9/11 might have been 5 hrs too as well.

Oh hells yes. Back then you would hook the radio to audio input on your VCR recorder and record all 5 hours. I would tune into the channel guide so the video tape would be time marked on replay. Good Times.

Not just sitting there. Usually I was working so it was background sound.

I can honestly say that the only time I've actively listened for the entire five hours straight was during longer drives late at night. And probably because it was some terrifying subject...

Otherwise, it's usually background at work.

...except for the host?

I imagine when Art posts things like these, he gets some responses back asking if he's the one hosting tonight.

I know some screens have been posted here in the past, but there's always an avalanche of them in the first 30 minutes after Art posts. It's often the first comment.

He's changed his settings, I can't like posts anymore. (Using the laughing "haha" emoji in response to one his posts may of been the final straw.)

Art changed his facebook setting to "Thick-Skinned Mode".

Listening to an old show last night, I've got an Art bumper song in my head ALL DAY.
Walking around, in my most nasally,  Willie Nelson voice....."I was a highwayman, along the coach roads I did ride"   Drivin me crazy!

5 hours is too long and Keith really dropped the ball by pushing this.

couldnt sleep at night for about a month returning home from a deployment but still wanted to be in bed next to my wife, I would listen to Art's replays on U7radio, Art bell stream, Art bell radio, dogzebra radio, and the ultimate Art bell...and could listen for 5hrs...it was so much in fact that my wife only hearing it from being in close proximity plus having no interest in such subjects, would ask me "how many times have you heard this one already" or "the ghosts to ghosts I like but the Father Malachi interviews scare me"...she became an Art Bell listener by default
