Christ, will the whining ever stop? Art dumped us, he may come back. If he does, don't tell him you are in love with him.

... It's my humble opinion that he's just gone bat shit crazy, or just old age has kicked in and he want us off his lawn for good...

This is at least the second time he's misstated what 'the trolls' have said.

First he said people were accusing him of faking a stalker 'for ratings', and denying that.  Maybe someone here or there said that, but nearly all the doubters of his story very clearly said thought he did it as an attempt to quit without looking bad, not for 'ratings' (whether it worked out that way for him is another story)

Now he writes ''they even have complained that I put up a picture of my family smiling when in their twisted way of thinking it should have been with expressions of terror''.  No one was 'complaining' and saying his family should be looking terrified, they're saying it's odd he has them outside playing in the snow at night when there is supposedly a potential stalker out there.

She's basically just a podcaster now, although her show does stream live online as well, one night a week.  I cannot find evidence that her show is syndicated anywhere on terrestrial radio.  Her website no longer lists that the show airs on WWCR, like it used to.  Hence, she is not really all that successful as a 5 night a week live late night radio host on terrestrial radio, which is the standard bearer "late night radio host" position I was referring to.  (Nearly anyone can have an online podcast, and too many with absolutely no talent at all do).

I'm not a Rollye expert, but she is kind of in the twilight of her career. She used to have a nationally syndicated show, and I believe she was based out of Philadelphia. I seem to remember something about medical issues, but It doesn't matter me to me, so I'm not going to take the time to research it. Point is, I listened to her every night when she was on the air. She had the sharpest mind of anyone on the air and had instant recall of all facts concerning a thing to do with the record business and the radio industry.

She even did C2C for awhile.  I'm not sure why she didn't want to continue, but I seem to remember it was her choice to stop. She owns two radio stations now and only broadcasts on Thursday and Fridays and holidays.

She had a huge following amongst long haul truckers, so don't say a woman"s voice doesn't work at night. That is an opinion, not a fact.

No.  When he posted the Photo from inside of his house, I believe it was New Years Eve, several morons made rude comments about the smiles. PB, you've had some good posts lately, but in this one you have simply jumped to the wrong conclusion.

Puh-lease.  She has 3 listeners. One of which could be considered a stalker.

You are a moron. For years and years she had a nationally syndicated show. Now she is in the twilight of her career, owns two radio stations and broadcasts live one night per week to a local market.

If you have found yourself in a situation where, by your own admission, you feel under siege to such an extent that you had to give up your job (which he 'loved', according to him) then a picture of beaming Bells is likely to raise the odd question, don't you think? It's not as if his fans were demanding a family photo to still their beating hearts, he simply decided to put it out there and not give a thought to the fact that an armed maniac is supposedly lurking around the house and might strike at any moment. Added to that, his decision to quit his custom-built network has put several people in difficulties in one way or another. It was a decision that was both odd and insensitive.

What would most people do in that situation? I think we'd probably forget about the family photo and worry about the 'stalker', and make sure the leprechaun riding a unicorn culprit is apprehended first.

Nothing like a little passive aggression.

Art is outside, at night, with his daughter, playing in the snow.  There is supposedly a stalker near by, or at least the possibility of one.  No one is supposed to wonder about this?

Apparently the stalker doesn't like snow.

I don't claim to know what goes through his mind.  If I were him I wouldn't be hiding, but I wouldn't be posting on social media either.

Phil Collins has a great song. I'm tired of posting the video.

I don't care anymore.

I hope they stay safe. I hope Heather succeeds if she is doing what she wants to be doing. I hope someday I get a life and stop hanging around BellGab. In the end, I can only really have an effect on one of those three hopes.

I remember when the guard was changing at C2C and Rollye didn't make the cut, she said that she refused to plug products that she didn't believe in (HGH perhaps?)  I'm glad she's got her own thing going on now. She's a classy lady with loads of talent. PBS said that Rollye eschews social media completely and still has an 8 track tape deck in her car. What's not to love about that?

Art is without a doubt addicted to reading what trolls say.

I won't go into detail here, but it is bizarre that Art, an enormous icon of broadcasting, is so engaged and worried about what is said by anonymous people on dopey message boards about him, about Heather and about his supposed "stalker".  I haven't figured why in fact he is so compelled to read and care about such meaningless drivel and opinions.
Maybe he doesn't  have a lot of adult human contact - friendships.  Maybe he and his family are kind of isolated out there, which is nice in some respects, but if you have a creative and inquisitive mind, does not supply you with a lot of similar people.  Maybe that's one reason why he wanted the show, but it got to be too much for him.

Art is mistaken:  most people don't want to hear a woman's voice as a host of late night radio.  Can you think of even one who has been successful at this?  No.  And, sadly, Heather won't be the one to break this glass ceiling.
Wow.  You are probably too young, but there was Alison Steele, the Nightbird.  God, people would tune in just to hear that voice.  She was phenomenal.

Rollye is more of a right wing political commentator.  She has a very selective audience, I think.  Art's opinion on issues are better thought out and can be right or left, depending.  With Art you felt you were dealing with a real human and not a political automaton.

The question I answered didn't have anything to do with topic/gendre/politics. It said name one woman that was successful on late night talk radio. I did.

Rollye had at least two sets of listeners. Long haul truckers and people that had interest in what records charted and when. I was neither, but I still listened to her show a lot at night. I was awed by her total recall and I liked her sense of humor.

I pretty much remember her calling out any politician that did something stupid. I would have never called her right wing. Libertarian maybe.

there was Candy Jones in the 1970' s  she was married to Long John Nebel and co hosted and took over after he passed away

In 1972, Jones married the popular radio show host Long John Nebel (he was her second husband), and became the co-host of his all-night talk-show on WMCA in New York City. The show dealt with paranormal, UFO, and conspiracy theory claims.
When Nebel died in 1978, she continued the all-night show until 1989.

I was neither also, but I listened to her years ago when she was on WPHT in Philadelphia. Her political views are somewhat different than mine and I have close to zero knowledge about record labels and music trivia but she made it all interesting. This is the same talent that Art has and it's a rare and beautiful thing.

i relistened to gabcast june 2nd 2015 - it's the one of the noory call-in shows.  Michael was drunk and needed a ride home... bateman calls-in.  Nooryisawesome calls in twice (his second call was with snorge on where he kinda ripped into him a bit)

anyways, I was looking for this supposed "death wish" for noory via heather... didnt hear it.

Now that she's hosting it's interesting that people want to dig up her old posts and gabcast appearances citing several "grievances."

uhg

Then I read Art's FB post and I want to yell at the Man!

stop responding to the negativity Art you are only feeding it!!

Right wing?  Rollye James?  I'd call her more libertarian than anything else, and she's far from a "political automaton".
GS nailed it when he talked about the sharpness of her mind and her knowledge/recall of the radio and recording industries.

I think most here have heard this but  if you haven't   i HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS  and  see if the opening theme sounds familiar

Stern used to read his hate mail on the air, & featured it in his books.

She was fired in Austin in the mid-'90s for commenting that it would be good if both Clintons and Al Gore were assassinated.

That's not quite what she said, and it was investigated by the Secret Service. It was probably not one of her better moments.

Sounds like she was just trying to get out of doing her show, and for want of a terrorist stalker, it was the best she could come up with.

p.s. She won a lawsuit against the station for breach of contract and for libel. The libel award was overturned, but during the appeal, the station settled.
