A person can appreciate Art's talent and his radio persona and still question his motivations and manipulations. 

I have no concept of how people marry and intend to stay that way if they are not introspective and don't debate the facts with their partners.

It takes tremendous restraint, self-discipline and adherence to the rules of Fight Club. Self-deception also helps. People really are something else. If aliens are half as interesting, we won't be bored when they land in Times Square.

Those of us who've been listening for decades understand that when you're faced with a difficult situation, you react with your heart and fill in the blanks later. We know this about you and love it. Regardless of the vibes you're getting from trolls who show up out of nowhere and pretend they need answers from you, the vast majority of us aren't looking for an explanation. Well, maybe we can lean a little on the scales in her favor.  We recognize it's a high-pressure job, and I don't think many of us think she's frankly bad at it.  It's just that when you get up on stage, the audience assumes a different role w.r.t. you, a harder edge, and some of the criticism may be exaggerated.  The actual malice is so over the top it can easily be disregarded.

Anyway, no matter what happens, you've made our lives more interesting & fun, and what better can be said about anyone?

You know, if Heather had quickly revealed that her secret broadcast location was the stage of an elementary school auditorium, and that we were the parents sitting in those auditorium seats, she could have gotten much more applause and encouragement. Yo, I'm new.  Been following (radio not stalkyish) Art a pretty long time. Been reading y'all at Bellgab...a wacky menagerie of folks ... for bout a year. Wow. I saw Art post yesterday...and figured what the hell. I'll admit,  I unsubbed when Art quit. I know y'all likely don't give a shite, but here's the thing.... Art's appeal was built around the delivery mechanism... The content surrounded by lil bits of life he share...The cats...at the time .. Ramona chiming in. I can't buy in to heather based on an avatar of Emma peel.... Frankly, I'd rather have Art, but my lack of interest in heather...it's not ... Art mentioned jealousy? It's like... Merry Christmas everyone-

I havnt heard heather nor Art at all on this latest run but its my understanding that "Art bells return" was the entire basis of making DMRN if memory serves me correct. I know when Keith first began themnetwork I tried listening but the quality of shows just wasnt really there except for MV's show which got pulled over some misunderstanding or something - Again, I dont exactly remember what all happened.

The thing is, there was a 2 year build up for "Arts return" and then some weird teasing about not doing the show because of the bumper music - Finally, Art returns and then before 3 months is over- Quits again...

At this point, there is nobody who could replace Art on the DMRN based on the fact that the entire thing was really always about bell- HE was the heavyweight, the anchorman- The Main Event and all that jazz... No matter how good or bad heather might be, what the hell did anyone expect but backlash and trolling? There was no attempt that I have read about to replace Art with a respected broadcaster (ala George Knapp) but instead replaced the main attraction with a total amateur- How could anyone expect a different outcome? And charging a sub for content that frankly isnt as good as the free content on you tube is just madness.

Had I been involved in this round of the "Quittening" I too would have been trolling heather, the network, Art and everyone else who actually thought it was a good idea for Art to quit and place an unknown in his seat and have the audacity to ask people to 'give her time" -

The whole thing doesnt make any sense and no sane person would have thought this even had a chance.Once Art quit, the only  chance of keeping things afloat was with a real pro to replace him- Instead he takes some unknown person who has never had a show and asks for his fans to be patient- patience should have run out a longtime ago.

Thats my honest opinion anyhow. And the sycophants here are still amusing but also its a bit sad to see that some people just will never learn.

Thank you! It is true I have a lot invested and now I don't mean money, I really put my heart and soul in to this and it is heartbreaking in the way it turned out. I wish the best for Heather. At least she has a shot at trying Radio and if it works, and it may well work, it provides a alternative.

As for the situation here we are still very much on edge. I am glad I am here with the Girls.

People ask why I didn't hire a Guard and the answer is I did that before on Coast during a time of serious threats and it was no way to live, very intrusive. I moved here because I love privacy and as you can see it is a double edge sword.

I wrote the long post only to explain those things people were saying that were complete BS. It's been a rough few Weeks. On top of everything else my arm is cut to shreds from that Drone accident. So things are bound to get better because they sure hit bottom. One thing is clear, I am my own worst enemy, I always just say what is on my mind at any given moment. I'm seriously not putting this out there as a conspiracy theory, this was my actual dream last night.  And no, I don't have prophetic powers (at least not as of yet in this 42 year run of life here on Earth).  Just a crazy dream inspired by lurking on Bellgab until 2AM.

Similar here.  Nothing against Heather, personally.  Just because she is a BG'er doesn't mean she's a good show host.  If the captain of a flight I was on suddenly decided he wasn't going to be the pilot and wanted to turn the plane over to a fellow passenger, I wouldn't be thrilled about that, either.
