Well y'all can thank Fort Rock for bringing a lurker out of lurkdom and actually registering...

As an Asthmatic who has had attacks so bad that without a breathing treatment fast I can say unequivocally that it is highly possible to have an attack so sever you die without waking anyone else in a Motorhome.  My best friend died at 36 while in a camper with her husband and kids were asleep 15 feet away from her.  She died from Asthma, as an Asthma sufferer I can say that it's one of my biggest fears because an attack can come on hard, fast and leave you weak without hope and convinced that this is the big one.

************

As to Art's announcement - hey whatever it is, it is... Personally I think the theory that he's announcing another child and that they are moving out of the city has more grounds in reality... and if he's actually coming back to the US, well it will be for the baby to be born here, however as I remember right Airyn had her baby in Las Vegas.  From personal knowledge that is NOT the city to want to be in a hospital in.  Especially for Maternal care, I'd be more comfortable in her place with a midwife some where in the boondocks...

I'M DONE HERE FOLKS, TIRED OF BEING TIRED OF THE RESISTANCE! IT IS WHAT IT IS, YOU TRY TO HELP, AND HELP IS THE LEAST PEOPLE WANT. THEY WANT MIRACLE WORKERS!

We just want the truth. Do you have it, Fort Rock?

Welcome, Morrigu.  Always glad for new input.

Like you, I've also put 2+2 together and summed it to a likelihood of a new Baby Bell and a trip to the States for a valid U.S. birth certificate, warding off any future legal questions about citizenship. Seems likely, too, that permanent stateside residence isn't in the plans.  That would have been a much bigger indication of any potential radio plans.  Although maybe the rumors that Art is planning to set up a "new Art Bell" in a new version of C2C are possible, and certainly something to hope for.  That would sound like a Win-Win situation to me.  :)

DON'T WANT TO PICK ANOTHER FIGHT, BUT!

With this whole Facebook fiasco taking people with it to the edge of reality, and the edge of sanity for an extended period of time, a question needs to be asked! This question will test the loyalty to Art's Radio persona greatly. Firstly Art MUST have been monitoring this forum for a period of time, length unknown. Secondly Art MUST have been monitoring the Facebook situation for an extended period, length unknown. YET he sits back and does not quickly respond when fans are painfully obsessed with him returning to the airwaves. Prior to this he simply quits Coast without consideration of the fans, and retiring in style with a special "goodby show". He's simply dropped out! Why? Do we know the true personality and caring attititude? The answer is NO! He simply chimes in with 4 sentences about how the "Arthur W. Bell III" Facebook was fake. Nothing else, and no attempt to sooth the nerves of all of us taken in by this. Summary question is, has Art REALLY cared about us listeners all this time? Here's the kicker, I asked a nurse yesterday... REDACTED
I would have fucking banned your ass for writing this shit if this was my forum. Fuck you Rock. You are a fucking wack job.

FORT ROCK... now that i'm done redacting the putrefied brown logs you dumped onto this thread in your recent posts, i have a question for you:  are you a fucking idiot or something?  i'm asking that question in a serious, concerned, almost clinical way.  do you understand that your post was a slanderous, vacuous shit stain deserving of legal action against you?

let's get one thing straight... if i should EVER receive an official communiqué from an attorney working for art bell as a result of your post(s), i will happily give him/her your IP address, your legal name, your home phone number, and your physical mailing address.  as a matter of fact, i HOPE i'm contacted by an attorney working for art just so i can release the hounds upon you.

you are a needy, emotionally scarred, angry, socially inept, jealous, excluded, confused, volatile, failed little man, and i pity the impoverished, naive asian flower who crosses paths with the likes of your sorry, unworthy ass.

Welcome Morrigu. I homeschooled for a while and gave birth at home three times rather than relive the horror of a hospital delivery where they "lost" me in a back room, tied to a guerney for seven hours immediately after giving birth.  I was so young I didn't know you could sue a hospital.

Add me to the growing list of us who are finally accepting that The Real Art will not be back on radio; that he is staying in the Philippines for good; and that he had found a life and is living it.

Airyn's nuclear and extended families are all there.  They have accepted Art as their own and have enfolded him into their family.  Airyn will never want to leave there permanently, and now Art does not want to either.  Live Long and Prosper, Art !!

Administrator Ban Button eh?

I bet there were calls Art had he wished he could use a ban button on some folks with ;)

My kids actually refuse to listen to George unless Michio Kaku is the guest, and prefer Art.  The youngest is a couple months older than Asia and wishes he could hear Art more and tells me that Asia is lucky because she gets her daddys voice to sleep every night and he just gets old recordings.

Well folks--I'm not really a forum kind of guy. I came here at the end of December to monitor the Art quitting situation and communicate with other fans who were asking the same questions I was. Four months on, we have precious little more than we had then of any substance. I honestly think this thing's pretty played out now. I'll keep an eye on this forum till the end of April to see if there IS an announcement of some kind and if so what it is, but after that, honestly, I think I'll be giving up the ghost, forum-wise. I might pop in occasionally to see if anything's new/changed, but really, unless and until Art himself really does make an official announcement of some kind in a formal place--like a press release, or, gods forbid, on Coast--I'm accepting the realities and moving on. I will HOPE that someday such an announcement takes place, especially if it pertains to new Art Bell material in some form, but I'm no longer going to count on or expect it.

Again, I'm not saying I'll never post here again, just--I have too much other stuff going on in life.

That said, you guys have all been awesomely entertaining and fun to go back and forrth with, especially anagrammy, and Michael V--I know what it's like to be the guy in charge of a large and somewhat chaotic group of distinct personalities, believe me. You have all my respect and sympathy, from the bottom of my heart, and that's not lip service.

Anyone who'd like to keep in touch with me, feel free to pm me and I'll give email/facebook/whatever info.

I'd also highly recommend to any Art/Coast collectors out there, if you're not aware of it, there's a guy named Malacoid who's trying to put together the most comprehensive and complete archive of past Coast shows; he's working his way backwards and is currently trying to finish 2005. In other words, he's only starting to approach the stuff that's actually good and listenable! But if anyone's in a position to help him out, let me know and I'll pass along your info. (And no, I'm not him...again, too busy of a life...but I want those old shows, dammit, so I'm independently doing what I can to help him out.)

Anyway, that's it. It's been real, it's been grand, and you're all a great bunch of forumists. Until we meet again, I'm out. Or I should say, 30. :)

Take care all.

First of all, right the fuck on Michael V (I so want to use an exclamation point here but I believe this forum deserves a temporary moratorium)

Secondly, George Noory still sucks and let me remind you that, the GNS compendium alone, has provided more international laughery than any other interwebby link that I can think of, but I don't think too good.

Long Live George Asshat Noory??

Thanks for your awesome contributions and your kind words.  It's a great bunch of people here and I'm sure we'll be reviewing paranormal radio hosts and yukking it up over other stuff.  To me it's fun to guess the politics by watching what happens on the show.  We know they're going "innernational" and it is my humble opinion that they are moving George off the main stage. Notice how they excited he is about traveling all the time and having offices all over?  Means he isn't preparing the show, he's doing PR to get international affiliates.  Some of us, as you know, are using our influence (voodoo dolls, prayers, burned notes, fists to heaven, everything short of human sacrifice) to get him replaced as the main host.

I think this will happen during the shakeup.  If something earth-shattering happens, I will definitely email you directly and you can rejoin us for another round of popcorn!

Cheers

George sucks

To rehash, Art is under a no-el-competo contractual clause. Virtually guaranteed. If anyone on the planet needed a non-compete restriction written into the contract, it would have been Art. Say he could walk and fire up a show within a month. Coast would be a goner. Non-compete is standard language, bit of a misnomer in this case though. Non-vaporize, non-make-it-like-we-never-existed, non-treat-us-like-we-are-your-bitch, non-?.... etc, would be truer to the situation.

And he most likely can't even talk about doing radio, coming back, starting a new show, etc. Just the mere mention of something like that would put Coast in a death spiral. So, whatever the case - mums the word.

Give it a year or two. He might get the bug. Have a desire to kick some ass one last go around in his twilight years. You never know. It won't happen anytime soon though if it does. And don't hold your breath, still a long shot.

Art is not coming back, EVER, and it may not even be his choice. The reasons have been discussed here time and time again. A soon to be 66 year old who has retired on/off again, and hasn't worked full-time in 9 years isn't exactly in a great bargaining position...and it really does appear that he's serious about hanging up the headphones. If we're tired of all the bullshit that seems to come with being in radio these days, one can only imagine how he feels.

Art has a proven track record of coming back after he was not coming back, EVER. And if he doesn't comeback, none of us will ever know why or if he ever considered it or if it was even an option.
