Sorry Anagrammy! He's on live from 7:00PM to 9:00PM Pacific Time Monday through Friday. Else, all you'll here is the music stream there.

Some articles from this year. In one of them, there is a recording of Art on his HAM set talking about things...

Thanks for posting these.
The HAM radio clip is from quite a while ago, and did you notice the name of the youtube user that posted the original video?  Michael Vandeven!

Well members of the greatest internet soap opera, which is this column, have only 72 hours to wait. It's Friday or nothing for a while! We'll see I guess? I listen to a show that informationally and intellectually matches Art Bell to a letter and word. Check out the Kevin Smith Show on-line, its great. Tonight he had Art Bell great guest Robert Morningstar on.

Absolutely!  I think Kevin Smith is as close as I have heard to Art.  He even is married to a woman in Thailand and lives there when not in the US (much like Art in that way).  Kevin was an international peacekeeper/policeman in Bosnia in the 90s.  Kevin has many of the old regular Art Bell guests that no longer appear with George Snoory.  You usually can listen to a podcast of his show for the next 24 hours.  He is on 10-12 EDT.  Definitely give him a listen.

I listened closely to the tape made from the HAM conversation.  Art's lack of interest in the show moving forward, particularly George Noory's behavior, i.e., moving to Los Angeles is apparent.  He said he wouldn't be able to be himself in Los Angeles (presumably because Premier execs are micromanagers).  Therefore, I  think (speculation warning) that the new owners felt he would be needing coaching or supervision.  Would be needing their help, as in the opposite of "making it his own."  That makes more sense to me.

Also as a political progressive, I really was surprised about his connection to the East Timor peacekeeping operation. He was the one who blew the whistle in the early 1990's about President Jimmy Carter's duplicity in allowing Indonesia hegemony over East Timor in violation to United Nations directive, and the urging of the Australian Government on that issue. He's a straight shooter!

Norton says his website's attacking me. Won't let me get in. His iTunes podcasts are 3 years old. No station affiliates, internet only?

Dark Side Of The Moon

His show is internet only. He's been having problems with the issue of the false attack on people's browsers. Like Art, he's controversial. Keep trying, check your browser commands, and mandate that your computer accept his site!

norton is an abomination.  it tries to do too much, and does it poorly.

if you are willing to accept any tech advice at all, please accept the following from someone who makes a living in this field:

uninstall all norton software and install microsoft security essentials.  in that order.  then install google chrome and do all of your web browsing with it.  chrome is 1000x more secure than internet explorer.  pretend internet explorer doesn't exist.

then, as you move forward, do the following:

1) keep up with windows updates.
2) don't open suspicious email attachments.
3) don't click links in emails.
4) don't download pirated music and/or software.

if you follow ALL of these tips, your computing experience will be faster and more reliable.  furthermore, you will no longer have to pay an annual fee to symantec for the use of their bloated, shitty, unnecessary software.

i know it's a tough sell to convince someone to dump a security suite they've paid money for.  i have to convince my clients of this constantly.  however, the fact that something cost money does not inherently mean it's what's best for you.  meth also costs money.

I completely agree with about protection/security programs like Norton.
I was using Norton several years ago. And I was much less adventuresome with the internet. Anyway I somehow got a nasty virus that no matter what I did all I could get was the blue screen of death. Called norton they instructed me to look for a fix on the internet... real good idea since my only computer couldn't get past the blue screen. I took the comp back to where I bought it and after 2 days of struggling with it I was told the virus had gotten into my bios... to me that was like saying The sine wave of Xover function epsilon... I had no clue. But they did tell me since the comp was less than 2 months old to get a new one.

ok long story I know. But they also told me that using a free version of several online virus protection programs were better than Norton and symantec together.

So on 2 of my comps I use Avira and on the other 2 I use avast. I also use a program called Advanced System Care by Iobit. I haven't had a malware/virus/unwanted cookie for a long time...

Listen to MV he knows of what he speaks.

Hey Mike,  does this apply to us Mac users as well?

no.

since there are about 9 mac users globally, virus authors don't bother attacking them.  they attack where the money is.  also, the macOS is based on unix architecture which is inherently more secure.  windows was built from the ground up without security in mind, and only in recent years has microsoft started adequately addressing these issues.

if you're on a mac, just do the system updates when the occasion arises and don't do the whole file sharing thing.  otherwise, you don't even need to give antivirus software a second thought.

the antivirus companies have tried for YEARS to convince mac users they need to install their expensive security suites... and it's a lie.

Quoteuninstall all norton software and install microsoft security essentials.

norton is even a bitch to uninstall! If you have norton products you want gone, use the

Norton Removal Tool

EVEN IF the install is not corrupted. Yes, it is by norton - but works.  dunno why it won't just uninstall like any program, but there you have it.

Don't use kaspersky security either.  i had a free 6 month of it that came with my new PC - damn thing randomly ate files i'd downloaded on purpose, from reputable sites, without warning!  Just some pop-up after the fact that said something to the effect of "see what i did?  aren't i wonderful?"

72 PAGES and tomorrow is the Big Announcement Day.  To hell with the English wedding, THIS is the monumental occasion that has kept 72 pages going on this, our core thread, Art Bell Quits.

Fort Rock, tomorrow, will give us the BIG ANNOUNCEMENT or give us the link to same directly from the now-legendary Portland Source.  I for one have been popping corn all day so I will not miss the first appearance against the foggy (virtual) horizon...THE RETURN OF JESUS--sorry-- ART BELL!

I've got my folding chair and blanket. I'm waiting all night to have a good view....

Fort Rock was banned.
There will be no announcement.

Oh yeah tomorrow IS the big day... how could I forget.

C'mon page 75!

Clearly I have nothing of value left to contribute to this thread.

I don't think Art himself could add anything of value!

Dark Side Of The Moon

Wow, announce day! I can hardly wait, it's either fireworks, or Dr. Jack for many. How it would be wonderful if Fort Rock's Portland Source is right?! Amazing times we live in that we depend on such stealthy means for a miracle that may not come in the minds of some, including mine!

anagrammy

This thread is on oxygen and I have to tell you, if there is a big announcement, send an ambulance to my address because I will be unconscious on the floor lying amongst popcorn.

It's all worth it since the popcorn tub is still going around

Scully

Well, it's April 29th now, and the clock is ticking.  We're waiting, Fort Rock.

By the way, I hear the fake Art Bell on the fake FB page is still posting fake info. :o

Usagi

Anyone who still has access to fake-Art Facebook...

Mind giving an update, for shits and giggles?

anagrammy

OK, I'm ready.  I'm on the People Who Miss Art Bell facebook page and they're all waiting just like we are.  Fort Rock is a member too, so I brought my field glasses 'cause it's a big crowd gathering.

Anagrammy

Scully

Keep us posted, Ana!

I'd check myself, but I was long ago tossed from that hallowed site for the sin of doubting the divine.  :'(

Seems like all of Rock's divergent personas are present as well. No announcement yet from the account holder..

Dark Side Of The Moon

Now remember butter is VERY high in chlorestorol! But awaiting the announcement of whatever! Is Art going to surprise Airyn with a new car? A new kitten? Or is it a longterm vacation in Pahrump?
