Why do you love censorship?

Because it invites you to comment on it; hows your sphincter?

Pink, smooth, and flawless.

Wanna see it wink?

Sure it won't resemble a giant clam? As long as you're sure. Edit the GIF and I'll take a peek when I have a spare minute.

If you want your band to take off, make sure you always spell it with a capital "K"

What *I* think is, you couldn't be more wrong.

You could be right.  After all, he did tell us he was NOT a serial retiree.  So it must be something else.

I think the AB Quit thread and the AB thread should merge to create one big super thread. They are both heading in the same direction. They are loathesome, offensive brutes, yet I can't look away.

This video best sums up these threads:

Nothing in that post you quoted is what I would call bashing.  I don't understand this cultish belief some people have that Art can do no wrong and must therefore never be criticized.  Sure, some people are hateful, but going completely in the other direction isn't healthy either.

He's human and subject to the same foibles everyone else is.  Quit putting him on a pedestal.

Quote from: BattyBrooke on December 10, 2013, 01:08:54 PM
Well, I see the majority of you are back at bashing Art just because he's not here massaging your hearts and your tiny little feelings with a daily post. "Oh, I love you Art!" Then Art doesn't post for awhile (as there is nothing more to say!) and it's "Art, you are MIA! How dare you! You are *insert name calling here* and you *insert lowdown insults here*.

At this point, I'm glad he left. You bashers don't deserve him. What a pathetic bunch.

... a stupid fucking reason to quit.  Not a very legit one at all.  Nobody else quit.

Quote from: Paper*Boy on December 09, 2013, 05:12:11 AM

This sounds right to me.

Art liked the idea of coming back and having a show and fans and interviewing his old cronies and maybe some new people sometimes, but after doing it for a few weeks realized he didn't really want to do it.  What he should have done was find something that he could do maybe once a week or just randomly whenever he felt like it, instead of 4 nights a week, every week.  What other 68 year old just goes happily back to work full time after 10 years of retirement?

And that's fine.  I wish he would just admit it.

At least that's what I think.  This was probably about the first thing that crossed my mind when I heard he was coming back.

+1, PB.  And I was as nervous as a long-tailed cat in a room full of rocking chairs waiting to see if I was wrong. I really didn't think it would be over so soon, but I knew better than to set up a deal with Sirius for more than monthly payments.

I did cling to his statement about NOT being a serial-retirer, though.  <sigh>

Have not checked in for a while.  I see that Bill & Nancy Birns show "Future Theater" is now an addition to Dark Matter network.  I have listened to their weekly show for the past couple of years and really enjoy it.  Link to listen to podcast: http://www.futuretheater.com/archives/2013/1213/175future12713.html

They have lots of praise for Art & Keith in the early moments of the most recent episode.  Nancy commented that it was so exciting to finally get to work with the famous Keith Rowland that she had always heard of from the Art Bell show.   :D

They also share with us and Art a dislike of Dave Snoory and the shoddy treatment he displayed to them.  :P

Solution to the problem for everyone...get phone with a real wire...a landline and maybe the internet service into ur hm over the landline too?
I never got rid of my landline...in an emergency cel phone are just a back up. Their reliability has gotten worse over time not better.

Did they talk about that on their last show? I'd be curious to know what happened there.

They went into the situation about 3 months ago.  As I remember, ol' Dave had them working on "his" latest great book.  After Ms. Birnes had done months of work on the project, Snoory called them up one day and just fired them without any explanation.  They asked for a meeting with him to discuss any problems that may have existed and he just blew them off.  Ms. Birnes also indicated that she had some unbelievable stuff that Snoory had said to her and promised that one day she will spill the beans. Bill Birnes has confined any of his appearances on C2C since the incident to nights that George Knapp hosts.  I can't wait to hear what dirt Ms. Birnes has on Davy boy.

Yowee. I just finally managed to get on this forum a couple of days ago, and boy am I glad I did. I've been reading for a while -- I especially loved the book review from the guy in Pittsburgh. Bill and I watched it on YouTube and we lol-ed. Butter pats all around.

Everything OVM [thanks for the earworm] says is true and accurate. And now I can fill in here, as needed. Glad to be here, I must say.

Please listen to the show live this Saturday if you can. I'm putting our 175 past shows up on my site, and it's going slowly. But steadily.

Wow. And people wonder why I don't jump on Jorch's Fri. night segment offer.

Nancy, I have to ask, who put in all those flavored butter recipes? Most of us figured they were Tommy's contribution..

nbirnes

I once wrote a book called Cheaper and Better. This was before the internet and when the web started, well ... people posted recipes when they wanted to. Dandelion seeds everywhere. So I felt comfortable putting as many recipes into it from C&B and also Zapcraft, another earlier book I wrote.

Those recipes were time-holders, merely. I assumed the publisher or ahem, the "writer", would object and I would switch them out with better stuff from the present, rather than the old days. I was buying time with them because I was working on a novel under very strict deadline pressure.

Thanks so much for asking! I should never assume. Ah, well.

Pizza rolls anyone?

Classic.  Time-holders that would eventually be switched out with better stuff?  Sounds like the current host of C2C.  ;D

Let me see if I have this straight.

Jorch: "Hey guise, wanna write a cookbook with me?"
Bill & Nancy: "Sure, Jorch!"

Nancy commences writing & compiling recipes.

Jorch takes the work & fires Bill & Nancy without so much as an explanation.

Jorch proceeds to publish said work.

How is this not grounds for legal action?

nbirnes

We weren't fired for the cookbook, but for the novel that was coming out after that.
