George Noory Sucks! - The Definitive Compendium

I am relatively new to this forum, so please forgive me as I'm sure this has to have been covered at some point, but I wasn't able to find any specific mention, which is probably my own incompetence more than anything else, so please be kind to a rookie here, BUT...

is there anything we can do to at LEAST register our displeasure with noory? I know it wold probably be of no use, but maybe a petition or letter writing campaign to clear channel or something? or a boycott of the sponsors? like i sai, I'm sure it probably wouldnt accomplish much but at least we'd feel like we were doing something and we'd get our voices on the record.. maybe we could take our complaints to a competitor and tell them there is an audience ready and waiting for them if they make a show to compete with snoory...

and if it matters, I've been a listener since about 97. loved art... got me through a lot of late nights at work, and even scared me so much a few times i had to turn on all the lights inthe office.

unless you're scared of food or numbers or crystals, noory's not sgetting any reaction from you...

anyway, a question, probably a dumb one... so again, please forgive my newbiness.

Great news! Tomorrow's show will be five hours long! That's right, an extra hour of Simple George for you. 'Course, I think I heard him say the last hour would be those oh-so-special Open Lines, so, as usual, it won't be worth listening to.

I'm thinking all the other talk shows will also have a numerologist and self-styled prophet commenting on the election results. My guess is that Noory has a lot more influence over C2C production than we think.

Check out the last several pages of the George Noory Sucks thread for some examples of emails people here have sent to the C2C producers and Premiere Radio CEO, without response, as far as I know. Bottom line is the bottom line, I think. As long as Premiere is making money on the show the way it is, don't expect any change. There probably isn't a professional, experienced talk show host who will work as cheaply as Simple George.

I don't think sponsor boycotts work unless you can get large numbers of boycotters, but remember, as far as we can tell, most C2C listeners actually like Noory as host. Fix that kind of stupidity and we might be able to accomplish something.

yeah stevesh has a good point.  We are apparently in the minority.  A lot of people only know Noory and don't have the gag reflex that people who loved art do.  There are tons of letters posted here that have been sent via snail and e-mail to the show but I'm not aware of any recent petitions... might be cool to get a petition together I've seen them actually make things happen in the past.

That's right. Because everyone knows C2C and George Noory are the go-to sources for election news and analysis.

Only very poor ratings will get Noory off the air, BUT, C2C is now aimed at the under IQ 100 crowd, supposedly 1/2 of the general population, so Noory has a huge listener pool.  These double digit IQ dullards think Noory is the greatest thing since sliced bread.  He plays up to their fears, anxieties and inadequacies as they are buffeted about by the vagaries of life.   Noory is there to feel their pain.

I've learned to accept reality.  The C2C we knew and loved died when Art retired.  C2C should be retitled to something such as "Nitwit Noory's Romper Room."  All it's good for now is to serve as a platform for Noory to demonstrate he's the laughing-stock of radio.  For me, C2C is good for putting myself to sleep, as long as I put the volume down way low so I can't really make-out what Noory is saying.  Hmmmm..... come to think of it, I can't make-out what he's saying when the volume is turned-up.  Oh, well, Noory is good for some cheap laughs at his expense and for providing unlimited fodder for CoastGab.

      Hi I have been creeping around this topic for a week or so now. I introduce myself here because it is the first post that opened up when I searched on Google "fake doctors on coast to coast am". I first listened to coast to coast am when I was a kid in jr high, I had trouble sleeping because of certain health complications so I would look for stuff on the radio to listen to at night. I ran into coast to coast am, at the time it was Art Bell who hosted the show, even on the weekends too I think, not so sure now. Then George Noory came in, and it was okay at first. But recently in the last 4 years or so I noticed that there are less paranormal topics and more political and hints of religious topics and propaganda in the mix.
     I would go to check for topics on the upcoming week on the coast to coast am website and I would see a topic that would seem interesting. I would tune in and the so called "PhD" on the topic sounded like a quack. Plus a lot of times the guest would not even show up, did you guys notice that? Also at times some of the "guest" who were supposedly university educated in the topic that they were talking about, sound the same as the so called "expert" in whatever field they had a topic on a couple weeks before, I don't know if you guys ever noticed that either. I kind of stopped keeping up with coast to coast am, since the show is now more boring than interesting. Plus It's almost as if half the time is used up on commercials. Also George's lacks respect to his callers, he clicks on every single caller because supposedly he needs time for the other callers, when in total there might be like ten callers or so.
      I think what finally did it for me was when this so called scientist was on the show, and was talking about how we were better at making better calculations and such because of technology. Then he when on to say "the calculating power of Excel is amazing". I was like. Really. Excel?. Is this guy really a scientist? Excel? I'm a engineer and Excel is by no means a good way of doing calculations, us scientist and engineers usually use straight out computer programming or powerful CAD systems like MATLAB and others. I knew this so called scientist had to be a quack. Well sorry for my long post, just wanted to share how I ran into this website and what finally made me fed up with coast to coast am, a show I use to enjoy greatly.

Noory's special election spectacular show tonight will probably be pre-empted by many local radio stations across the country for their own local election coverage.
He will only be on the air mostly on some Canadian stations and streaming for those who pay for his streamlink service.

Welcome to the club.  Like you, I sometimes tune in to shows that sound promising only to be disappointed time and again.  The show is a shadow of its former self.  At least when Art had a lunatic on, he would have fun with them, and the show would be good for a few laughs if nothing else.

I think Noory really wants to be a news guy. I have heard him many times say that he has, "a hard news background."  He says this with much pride as if it should impress you.  We have wondered what Noory does with his time off or at home. I believe he fantasizes about being Walter Cronkite or Tom Brokaw. He wants to play with the big boys. His ego NEEDS people to like him.  This is the reason for the screened calls. He can't handle criticism. It's is why we are haters and why he never voices any serious opinion on anything. Noory doesn't really care about the paranormal or strange subjects. He only pretends to for the job. It's is why we get "health" topics and political stuff. The entire first 30 minutes of the show is Noory's favorite because he plays "news guy ."  He likes to tell you, "here's what's happening", and he practiced it for 8 hours.  Noory will actually enjoy himself tonight because he is pretending to be as important as the news/political coverage shows. Sadly, Noory is to stupid to realize that we are sick of political coverage, we already know the results and we want to move on with something entertaining.

Sounds like the first guest is a pro-Obama liberal, he is going on about how Obamacare will produce lots of new jobs in the healthcare and insurance industries.
Soon the Number's Lady will be on to tell why Obama's numbers predicted he would win.
Later John Hogue will be on to gloat that he predicted Obama's re-election correctly years ago as he has the last 12 presidential elections.

Very interesting that Noory can handle an extra hour (5 hours total) for a politics show, but also needs to cut out early on most Friday nights as he did on Halloween night by playing a replay for the last half hour.
He is apparently only interested enough if the subject is politics to hang in there all the way...

Noory severely sucks as a host for things I'm actually interested in... doing political crap makes him suck 20 times as much.  If people call him Snoory already while he does somewhat exciting and stimulating topics how much more boring is he going to be hosting something that's traditionally boring anyway?  It's a bit subjective I know but I'm sure most here would agree going political will in no way invigorate his flailing career.

What I noticed most about our numbers lady is that she would be right no matter who won.  For the first time in months I managed a few minutes of Wells on the weekend when she was on.  A few days back she said that Obama would probably win... his numbers said so.  She immediately followed up that statement by reminding us that this year is a 5 year- a year of chaos and surprises so it is entirely possible that Romney might win.  I cannot help but assume that if Romney had won she would have been on claiming that she was 100% correct because it is a 5 year and that means that Obama might well loose...  Pure garbage and a waste of my time.
