Great this is now like the third Falkie thread.  Can we change the fortress so it keeps things in rather than out?
It's been awhile since the GNS thread has been so popular.  I thought maybe Jorch was on last night or, even worse, he'd decided to do a last minute Super Suck Sunday.

I'll be really pissed if Falkie and Fans scurry over to the Knapp thread.

Dateline

Norry, I want to hear about ET's, not ET Tonight.

UFQuack

Leeza Gibbons is the guest? Her book is called Fierce Optimism.

Sounds like a great time to play full chamber Russian roulette instead of listening to the show.

Jorch has a lady friend tonight. Will it be a paranormal date?

Chine

Theoretical Physicist, Sran Carroll is on now. This is quite interesting and enjoyable.

As a a kid in my mother's womb, I was convinced there was life outside of Earth.
I think the primordial soup is the same everywhere in the universe. Do you agree?
I just can't wrap my head around the idea of the Big Bang, of something exploding into all of this that we see around us. The sound of it exploding must have been unbelievable.
As a scientist, are you religious or deeply spiritual like me?
There has to be a reason for the universe. It can't be random and a fluke. I'm not talking about god here, but we'll get to that later.
If Einstein would have had a modern computer to work out his computations, imagine the things he could have accomplished on his smartphone with one hand while eating a turkee samich with the other!
When I was a kid I would smash anthills to see what the ants would do in the aftermath. In that moment I was like their god, and I was the destroyer of their worlds.
Is it possible for science and technology to devise a safe way to microwave pizza rolls without burning the flapper thing in your mouth to a crisp? I'm thinking of the children.
I look at the planet and how it rains when something needs rain to grow. There's all of these systems working together. It's almost like the planet was designed for life.

I've seen him on many science shows and he's great but I swore off Noory's interviews as I get too frustrated with all the same lazy questions/comments.  However, that said, sometimes a really good guest can overcome that by being interesting anyway.  Hope it's a good one for ya.   :)

Listened to this in my head with George's plodding tone speaking it, and much laughing resulted.

Ok so tuned in for a few mins, to hear George's old go-to: "How could something be created from nothing - I just don't get it!"  ... then the standard seque into the Hubble Deep Field and how "With all those galaxies, there must be life out there!" etc., etc. ... So much potential with this great guest, and again he just goes for the easy generic stuff.  Still interesting in a way to hear Sean's comments, but too frustrating overall for me as usual.

Good catch, Zeebo. I forgot about Georgie's favorite Hubble image.   :o

sNoory loves science so much that he always feels the need to sharply veer away from it, not surprisingly. It seems to descend to Georgie's level of science battles religion, or as he calls it, his spirituality. He's unable to ask thoughtful questions (other than those the guest provided) about science or what the guest has said, so he reshuffles his index cards back to a topic with which he's comfortable talking about, or is it preach about. Because that's exactly what it sounds like, preaching.

And then tonight, one more time, he deliberately cued his angelic army to call in to lay siege on the lone scientist who will not believe. One angelic caller basically told Sean that he was going to hell for what he thought. Georgie remained quiet as he let the caller ramble on and on until the lecture was finished. Why sNoory has a hang-up with what scientists personally believe, truly shows what he's made of and why he believes he's sitting in that chair (hint: by divine design). To Carroll's credit, he said earlier in the show that he doesn't mind these types of engagements with the public. The man has far more patience and politeness than I'd have in that situation.

Just Me

I have a confession to make.

Some times when I visit ballgrabber noory sucks thread I click over to C2C so their web logs shows ballgrab checked in and then I click back to the ballgrab snoory thread so there is no doubt.

I know, I'm a mean son of a gun.

OMG I found a pic of George Noory as a time traveler!!!!

Wow.  PRRD.  A classic case of pizza roll reflux disease.

Lost a bit of respect for guest for the misuse of "begs the question."

You've found the right place, madam.  Just beware of flying Falkies and beast-loving Bobos.  They're everywhere.

Yes I'm impressed at what good sports these scientists can be. Seth Shostak as well handles these attack calls with poise.  They always call in and claim that he's a close-minded fool or some gov't disinformation agent and he just politely listens then re-states his reasonable scientific opinion.

Yeah, though I always find it more interesting/amusing listening when Norry has on a serious guest who is unaware of C2C and can be heard being really puzzled and even taken-aback by his questions and the callers.

Morgus

Noory called into Jimmy Church's internet show last night.
At first he sounded like a Noory impersonator, higher voice than when he is on his own show.
But Jimmy asked Noory how he sends tweets and text messages to him while he is live on c2cam and Noory revealed he has Tommy do it for him... ;)

I see Noory is interviewing Dan Rather Friday night on Coast.  Another attempt at achieving a reputation as a successful respectable journalist.  Problem is the guy he is interviewing lost that status some years ago.

I hope he uses some of his Ratherisms and Norry chimes in with some of his own bumbling approximations. I wonder how often Norry will mention Cronkite. Or that he had the last interview with Hoffa? Drinking game?

I cannot / will not listen... But I would be willing to bet that Jorch will be bringing up his plans to interview Castro...
