Can Noory pronounce anything correctly?

That's pretty much already the case for me, P*B.  Jorch and the C2C train wreck became a big joke for me long ago.  It's worthy of nothing more than a few laughs...

I'm with yuh, there seemed to be some confusion about why George was here.

The people - like me - that haven't listened in several years would not go back now even if they started to hear that George was much better.  Not with Art's new show coming right up.

Just read General Sun Tzu's writings and you'll see that George has been using his tactics all along.

“Appear weak when you are strong, and strong when you are weak.”

“Keep your friends close, and your enemies closer”

And we can also take a lesson from General Tzu.

"When envoys are sent with compliments in their mouths, it is a sign that the enemy wishes for a truce."

Whew! Knew I smelled something burning.
All that thinking will do it every time.  ;)

Yeah I think that is part of his intentions, dropping in to look like a nice guy amongst the unwashed haters.

As I recall hes giving pretty much the same pat answers to detractors here as he has given out over the air, throughout many years he has ran Coast.
Much like the same pat cue card questions he ask his guest year after year.
Stick to the script.
No one would ever say anything bad about/to Jeorgy on a internet thread titled "George Norry Sucks!- TDC". What could go wrong? Jorge may not be so bright, but he works for some bright people.

I ask myself why he cares so much now? His "facts" are 9 out of 10 people like C2C, that is 90% approval rating, hell Rush would have given up Oxy for those ratings. God gave up Jesus for WAY smaller approval ratings. Where did those stats come from? Did he survey his subordinates? Did they hire the same group that did polling for Romney? Listing to Dave's "facts" sounds much like listing to most of his guests "facts". Sources please.

Just give him a chance let him sell you er... tell you how great he and his show is, and how much better he will make it in the future, with our help. Hes a nice guy, a truth seeker who would never sell you some phony product or line of BS.
Psychic pills, and C-A-R-N-O-V-E-R-A, PLUS 2 bottles of Turmeric as a BONUS! All for FREE! But you must act NOW!

If the man wants to try and do a better job, more power to him. 1000 pages stand as a testament that he can use to find reoccurring themes across many users over many years. He and his coworkers could use said data to decide what will make for a better C2C, without him or his staff ever making a post to ArtGab. That might be hard work though. Damn, I reckon not all answers can be found on 3x5 index card or in a 15 second sound bite.

Dave interacting on ArtGab and using it's members direct feedback as a way to further improve C2C may not really be his main goal, but that is just what I think... could be wrong.

Has everyone had their Clonazepam today?

I have to give George his due props. He`s come in here -- to a highly inflammatory thread, at his expense -- and handled it with utter class and dignity.

In fact, he very well could have pounded the chest a bit ; called "scoreboard", but I didn`t see any sign of that.

I think the show is horrible, and I don`t like his style, but the level of ad hominem, vitriol directed at him is just childish. He seems like a genuinely decent chap.

Perhaps it`s amicable demeanor that has won over a whole new generation of fans and has the show steadily growing. Then again, perhaps people are just weary of over-the-top, confrontational, in-your-face, radio/tV, and GN offers a brief respite from it all.

George you have used the amount of stations and ratings and your contract as a justification for how the show is.

I ask you this in all seriousness, I worked in radio, I understand the pay scale etc. With as many affiliates as you have, your new contract should reflect that in a monetary value.

Let's have a hypothesis that you are worth half of what Rush Limbaugh is worth to Premiere. With that logic (taking into account night time slot, etc) you should be making AT LEAST 1/4th of what Rush is making per year, which is in the range of $7-9 MILLION dollars.

You do not have to give a number but are you making anything in that range?

After all that I feel like RCH.

In regards to ratings and George's defense of the direction the show has gone in I beleef the aboved should be addressed by George.

*ahem* I'm simply marking the point at which I think Lilly is back at it. Yet again. It's crazy-making. And Lilly begat Pam, who begat Artsy, who begat WickedGame, who begat Dex, who begat Art Lover, who begat Canned Heat, who begat IartC2C, who begat ARTiculate, who begat Black Hole AND Clonazepam, who begat Catsmile.

It's interesting that Lily showed up at the same time as George.  I suppose the best explanation would be that she heard his shoutout and decided to come back and curse us.

The thing that bothers me most is that her ploy was way too obvious.

There's probably not anything new to be said about what it is that Dave Noorie is doing here, and how everyone should or shouldn't behave because of his appearance.

This has also been said over the past couple of days, so I'm repeating what others have already observed.  Still, it's my bottom-line thought on the matter of Dave Noorie's intentions.

Jorch's Eye Pad contains pretty much every issue that's ever been posted on BellGab to explain how this little corner of the internet came to agree that George Noory Sucks.  The beauty of Jorch's Eye Pad is that it's incredibly gentle-spirited.  It's insightful, but it's not hateful.  There's not one thing I've seen anyone ask or confront Dave with in this thread for the past two days that isn't already in Jorch's Eye Pad.

If Dave, his handlers, PremRat PR people, or whoever is driving this Gnoory bus really wanted to know how WE thought Dave could improve, Jorch's Eye Pad is a complete study of all things Jorch, and without crudeness or hostility.  Hell, it's even in cartoon form so they don't have to read much!  If that's still too much work for them, Gandalf50 made a youtube video that transits through all the cartoons in one fairly quick viewing.  It couldn't possibly be more user-friendly.

There's no reason for Dave to make a big splash by showing up here publicly, predictably disrupting this forum, if all he wanted to do was know how we thought he could improve.   The first night Dave appeared here he was asked many times if he had read Jorch's Eye Pad.  He avoided that question many times, just as he's evaded most every other question.

Not to over think it, but maybe if we had a representative of sorts, which is basically what Nucky was trying to do (I think), one key person could ask the general eight to ten solid questions we all have.
nucky's approach sucked.  it was like the watching the inquisition unfold before me.

Right.  I think for a lot of people, they don't want to be overly receptive because if it is disingenuous on "Gnoory's" part, they don't want to feel like they've been duped.  I think people want to be cautiously optimistic, but still definitely question the timing, the motive, and the sincerity based upon past history with George.

...Ive kept this show alive when it was near death. We have grown it and now I'll take your pointers and make myself even better. Gotta run

This is from George's message yesterday.  Is anyone troubled by the fact that George states that he kept this show alive when it was near death? That he thinks that he is the reason behind its success?

I had no idea that it was close to death.  Who would not have wanted this gig? I just thought he was given a gift.

This exemplifies George's self-righteous disturbed thinking and gives him license to do whatever he wants.  It is very important to note this in his message. Me thinks he speaks about Art with forked tongue.

I'm not sure what it says about someone who is the subject of a "YOU SUCK" forum and wants to hang around there . Trying to put myself in George's shoes for a moment ... I would not subject myself to a 1000+ page you-suck-fest.

I have read George's resons for being here. He "cares about every listener" and wants to improve. I guess that's great, but perhaps too little, too late. His timing on arriving here and sudden desire to "kick it up a notch" seem odd. About as odd as removing Art Bell from the show ending thank-yous, then bringing that back. I don't buy his explanation for either.

When all is said and done, I don't personally HATE George Noory. I actually liked George after he took over C2C. What I hate is the fact he allowed himself to be used by PRN. The corporation used him to ruin the intent and spirit of what C2C was founded on. It all goes back to moving from St. Louis to LA, where the show was farther from the reach of prying hands at the network. Art thought the move was a mistake and always tried to distance himself from the LA influence. See: youtu.be/TbWN_ccdSUk

I had a lot of love for C2C. They took my sweet baby and turned it into a turd. Perhaps it would help George to understand why people get so upset about the direction of the show, his interviewing style, an so on. People were passionate about a show they felt personally connected to. That feeling is gone for many of us. Perhaps that feeling will be reignited by the flames of AB's Dark Matter.

I know the current incarnation of C2C is "hugely successful"... Just ask George if you don't believe me! I also know things will never be the same, so there is no point on dwelling on what was. In the end, George Noory still sucks.

Just going by memory.  I don't want to wade through all the posts again.

Yes, and it was disturbing.  If you look at his posting history, he's the one who invoked Art Bell's name over and over again with his own repeated comparisons and justifications.   Some of his posts about Art were blatant lies, some were mischaracterizations, and some were just his own weird projections.  Still, he told us over and over that he believes the main, or only, reason we think he sucks is because we like Art Bell and can't stop comparing the two of them.

If anyone's obssessed with Art Bell, it's Dave.  And not in a good way.

I don't think that's the only one either.  I don't want to name names, because it's really not fair without evidence.  But, keeping an eye on new registrations since yesterday's bannings has been interesting.

Good post, IMO.  Jorch keeps bringing up about "he's not and can't be Art."  Christ, we know that, all most of us want is a competent, professional host, for the most part.  As some pointed-out, a number of us are OK with Knapp and weren't as displeased with others, such as Ian, as we are with Noory.   Jorch just keeps to his talking points and refuses to acknowledge these type of counterpoints.  As I mentioned earlier, it's the typical MO for the corporate-type operators.  I believe anyone hoping this old dog will learn any new tricks is going to be severely disappointed.  Fool me once....

the latest episode of our podcast is posted here.  i'm only plugging it in this thread because we spent the first 55 minutes talking about george's participation here, so for those who don't listen to the show (which is about 99.3% of the forum), i think you'll find it interesting.

He came in early on as a substitute for Art.  If there was such a break between Art and George, we still liked Art and were not sure if Art would actually leave because he was wired from Manilla.  I think Ian was on too.
