I knew a lady who wrote stuff for Nixon and she voted for Obama/Soetoro. I knew a lawyer who was a big honcho for a large 'contractor,' now retired with a nice spread in horse country Virginia, and he gives $ to the DNC every year. Parties often don't mean anything inside the Beltway, the loyalty is to the system that feeds you. I would like to say loyalty to the country or people but, sadly, it is more often loyalty to the system and bureaucracy.

Yah, but talk about establishment. MacLean Virginia. Check. NyTimes, Wash Post, The Atlantic, Check.  I'll bet he is a big supporter of Israel for Biblical reasons (and some investment reasons,) meanwhile thinks the Good Samaritan story is bunk and shouldn't apply, and likes wars.  Jack Kemp, mentioned in the wiki, as I recall went to 4th Pres, they were fairly hardcore and had a Welsh pastor who could preach.  I'm unaware of MacLean Pres. I doubt they -but these days who knows- that they buy into moral relativism and so-on. Calvin or Knox based churches, usually, don't buy into that- but these days?
