Random stupid things on your mind. Post them.

I used to keep ammonia in my car when I worked in a nursery garden shop in Florida. If you dab ammonia on fire ant bites immediately they do not swell up and get that pus in the bite. Fire ants inject formic acid into their bites. I have scars on my legs from a previous encounter before I figured out the ammonia angle to treatment. I kept it on hand because fire ants would colonize a plant pot and you might miss their presence before they swarm on a customer.

Juan

By ammonia, do you mean regular household ammonia?

Recently I've found myself saying the George Noory soundboard "WHAT?!" in everyday life. So much so that it was unnerving to hear that expression come out of my 5 year old daughter. Damn you George you are even infecting the minds of kids all around the world. She is now a very mean baby.

Would Noory be more tolerable if he had an Australian accent?

Here's one: why is it cheaper to buy a combo lantern/lantern-battery than buy a new lantern battery to use in your lantern? Seriously, something is messed up economically there. I've seen this at Lowe's, Home Depot, my local grocery store, and at my local Ace. How can a new lantern plus a battery be cheaper than a new battery??!!

That guy is a criminal. Runs a tax free business stealing sick people's money. and i guess people could say "a fool and their money..." but these people are not all gullible, they are desperate, and this guy rips them off.

I have not verified because, as one would suspect, there is  labelling over battery n latern but has, from what I could see same Energizer look. Weird. I might buy n investigate some time.

"My daughter annointed my cervix"?!? Wtf? Thats a lttle bizarre even with those packets of "holy" water. I recall someone used to hawk little towels that would heal you. Easier n less uncomfortably intimate.

or burning poison ivy, which is illegal in at least NY.

I get poison ivy badly. My Dad and I both had to go the ER for steroid shots once when I was a kid because of our idiot neighbor burning poison ivy. It was awful.
I use a Qtip with bleach on poison ivy and it works like a champ. It burns, but it is scabbed over the next day and doesn't spread.

I had money miraculously appear in my account .... oh wait .... I worked hard and earned it. It's called work. You do it and you get paid and stuff.

I suspect this Peter Popoff isn't entirely legit.

I will be buying his Miracle Spring Water, however.

I always wondered if that  was true. I remember a story of a friend dad "got it in his lungs" from a fire of logs with poison ivy but kid n camp so? I also heard oleanders will giveyou heart attack when burning? So just stay out of smoke said grandpa. But same guy also said bleach for poison ivy n turpetine or gas or clean up on self after painting.

A product called Technu works pretty well for poison oak.

Uh, excuse me, it's officially referred to as a divine transfer

And the miracle spring water doesn't work as well as his older product, the miracle manna from heaven (which I think was a holy-water spritzed Wheat Thin).

I didn't get it in my lungs, I don't think, but I was covered head to toe and even my eyes were swollen. It was almost like a bad food allergy reaction. I must have been about 7 or 8 at the time, so I don't remember the technical stuff.

Used to hear Paul Harvey do ads for something sounded like Zanfel?  It was for the "poison" plants as well.

There were these two dipshits on 1000 Ways to Die that were desperate for a buzz... rolled some up and smoked it, and....

All 3 of these, or any combo will give much relief from poison oak/ivy.
Bleach helps dry it up, but doesn't help with itching, burning, swelling.
Only a shot from the Doc is better, but cost much more.
