I'll just leave this here and quietly leave.

Big Chucka, I should post this in the GOT thread but I haven't seen the latest episode yet and didn't want to be spoiled. This should be your next avatar.

It's a good one.  Entire episode is at The Wall.

Dothraki in the back... that would have to be cut off for me, following their rules.  Technically, I just "lost" in battle... :'(

The last episode of Cosmos airs tonight.
9:00PM EST
Smoke em' if you got em'.

thank God! I'm not proud to admit it but  I have gradually become a hater of Tyson, that condescending smarmy guy  gives me the creeps. I've been fighting that losing battle throughout the whole series. Hated the juvenile badly made cartoons. But on the other hand, there was exciting modern information here and there.

Pulled from elsewhere...

The United States truly is a melding pot of people. Almost nowhere else is there such a diverse group of people, with a unified "dream."

Planet Vulcan truly is a melding pot...

Personally I like Family Guy.  Executive Producer for Cosmos "reboot"... Seth MacFarlane.  His pull and money got that done.

I don't remember if I watched the original Cosmos when I was a kid.  I remember a show called "Connections"... with James Burke.

A great show, nothing made history more interesting.

I liked the other parts of your post as well... but Connections... for. the. win.

I didn't get that memo. Since when did I say you could see other people? I knew it!!! All those times you had a 'old friend' on the phone. Bitch.

Yeah, unfortunately there's a lot of that going around.

I imagine some people are visiting the site from work. No bueno.

Desculpame, por favor.  Ahora es bueno.

Wasn't sure about partial comic nudity, but I s'pose it's best to be on the SFW side.

No razors before the mid 80s, apparently.  So THAT'S why they called it "beaver"!

That term baffled me for many years, but I finally found the explanation in an article about merkins (which is a pretty frickin' weird concept all its own).  Apparently, many of them were made from beaver fur.

"Also, prostitutes would wear a merkin to cover up signs of disease, such as syphilis.[1][2]"

I like the episode ending where he pulls out all the stuff in his pocket and says "we all pretty much have the same stuff, what makes us different?" and they pan away and he is just another gingerbread cookie on a giant pan of gingerbread cookies shaped like people.

I love that site. :)

It's given me hours of fun.  The first time through I laughed until my face hurt.
