The indignity of old age... The day I miss the urinal... I am finding an ice flow.

I miss the urinal all the time...but wide left. Nothing to be worried about. Other than some Peyronie thing.

The day I mistake a urinal for a shower stall I'm finding an ice flow.

Don't ask - long story about a family funeral at the veteran's cemetery, the women's room closed for repairs and an ancient aunt asking if the urinal was a shower stall. She was short, but not THAT short.

And why do they present everybody with a paper copy of the entire PP demonstration and THEN present the actual PP?  Blech....
I take notes from the presentation on the paper copy. I also place post-it notes on key pages I want to review in the future.

So you can sneak out of the dreadful experience and still know what was in the presentation.  ;)  I wish my college courses had been done this way.  Well, at least the 8:00 in the morning classes.

I can totally see them making an episode of Ancient Aliens about The Beatles. "What kind of pooower would you neeed to create something like this? The power... of an Ancient Alien civilization?"

It used to be that the Super Bowl was the most disappointing major sporting event. From 1984-1999, there were three interesting, i.e. competitve games. Niners-Bengals in '89, Giants-Bills in '91, Broncos-Packers in '98...

But the World Series has a lock on the most disappointing event. Since 2004, bold indicating that increasingly rare compelling series.

2004  Red Sox over Cards in 4
2005  White Sox over Astros in 5
2006  Cards over Tigers in 5
2007  Red Sox over Rockies in 4
2008  Philles over Rays in 5
2009  Yanks over Phils in 6
2010  Giants over Rangers in 5
2011  Cards over Rangers in 7
2012  Giants over Tigers in 4

The way the Cards played last night indicates another short and dull match up.

I have an interview on Sunday. I'm debating having a beer or a cup of tea before. Decisions, decisions...

I thought both of these were good series. But, in general I agree with you and the last really good WS I saw was Yankees/Dbacks.

Well I'll be in a studio by myself, so I'd probably just end up eating a chair or a phone...

It depends.  If the quality and sound of the voice, resonance and tone, are important, avoid any alcohol-containing products for 24 hours prior to the interview.   Hydration is a good thing, but ingesting water won't do much to hydrate your throat and larnyx.  Tea can be soothing, but doesn't really do much to coat the throat, as slippery elm does.

This is a pretty great regimen for making the best of vocal quality:

An hour before the interview:  dissolve one slippery elm lozenge in your mouth - http://tinyurl.com/ohwwnaq

Ten minutes before the interview:  2-3 sprays of ClearVoice - http://tinyurl.com/pybpwcq

DURING and immediately before the interview:  Entertainer’s Secret spray â€" http://tinyurl.com/q5wsxlk

The links are to amazon.com, but you should be able to find these products in a well-stocked health store, or even a good pharmacy.

If the quality of your voice isn't important to the interview, then bath salts.  :)

Yeah, there can be good 5 game Series, depends on matchup, results. The 7 game series is becoming more unlikely. The 2002 Giants-Angels was good, with that rarest of events...Barry Bonds actually performing in October. Of course, it's obvious why he was so dominant then as opposed to his 1990-92 flops.

Because nothing says you're a real go-getter like chewing the face off your interviewer....

If your going to have a beer, you might as well bring in a six pack just in case.  You don't want to have to be running out into the street looking for another.  Way too noisy to pull off in nyc.

By the 6th, I'll be slurring like Noory. No thankyou.

Oh well. I've known a few who just start to get going on their 6th.  Tolerance, I think they call it.  I'm glad to see that monkey's not on your back!

Forgot my alarm clock the other day, and found this:

Sometimes, I love the internet.  It really works, they call you at the time specified by you with a silly wake-up message.  Very cool.
