Cinnabon apologizes over Carrie Fisher 'best buns' tweet

Every time I see something like this I wonder.  These are firms that actually pay money to employees, contractors or outside PR firms to promote their image... Right?

Yes, but such employees tend to be twenty something brain deads who begin each sentence with "So" and do things "totally", with "like" used as punctuation, and a question inflection at the end of nearly every sentence. Do you seriously think such single cell animals would have "sensitivity" and "propriety" in their lexicon of attributes?

And sadly, similar plankton sign such campaigns off.

There is a train of thought in the advertising world that says anything that gets your name/product in front the public is a good thing. Assuming this is real, as tasteless as it might have been, it still has people talking/thinking about Cinnabon.  In fact, if they issued an apology, that's potentially a twofer, and it probably didn't cost them anything since the story would have gotten legs primarily through social media and quirky news sites.

I know a woman who retired, moved to the US and applied to do PR with a charity.  She was told that she was "too old" and they went with a 20 year old who could "blow up" social media.

She watched the stupidity and laughed at a place that could have had class and decades of experience give full control of their image to a immature, recent graduate with no experience and no idea how to handle herself.

Good times.

***You could be right Uncle...  Most people who are "offended" remain so for around two minutes.  I'm sure it did not hurt sales.

Social media is incredibly important for companies to build and maintain a direct connection with their consumers and potential consumers. Unfortunately they always pick some dumb kid that either:

1. uses the platform to shitpost unfunny memes.
2. abuses the platform to shitpost leftist identity politics and then claim harassment when consumers get upset.

I think it's cute and I think she probably would've too. It also makes me want a Cinnabon and I know they're horrible for you. So, mission accomplished! Her family and Disney may have some legal questions about the unauthorized use of her image though.  ;)

Unfunny memes ARE leftist identity politics.

You chan people seem to think as long as you are bashing the right it's "funny."

Debbie Reynolds and Carrie Fisher have a new documentary that's coming out soon titled Bright Lights: Starring Debbie Reynolds and Carrie Fisher.

So I guess their deaths were just a publicity stunt.

I'd hate to be a good-looking babe and come from Hooker, OK.  I bet she never stopped hearing the jokes.  RIP

Does anyone here think she wasn't deliberately killed?

What is the connection to her and Jack Kennedy?  Hint:  It ain't Heinz 57

RIP Carrie Fisher. She was great in many movies, especially in the classic "The 'burbs." A great, funny movie featuring some great actors that, for some reason, was over-looked by both the Academy then and over-looked now the press when reporting on her death. She was great in her supporting role.

Walter's Bichon Frise, Queenie, was played by the same dog who played Precious in The Silence of the Lambs (1991). A Bichon with dramatic range.

Sad day, Coach Edwards was one best and classiest coaches in college football history.

Hilarity ensues when the Illuminati's failure to give their cash cow a Star before killing her results in a DIY craft project.

Indeed, a huge range for a Bichon. I wonder if Quennie was actually sampled for the soundtrack of "The 'burbs' yip-yip, yip-yip song? Likely so, so add 'movie score' to Queenie's abilities.

I heard that the mother wanted an autopsy for the daughter before she died.

That's just what I heard.

Just how many hours a day do you set aside to trawl for videos that will put a conspiracy theory spin on any given topic or person? Have you ever considered drinking bleach?

According to the article, the results of the autopsy were “not obvious”.  A crippling heart attack aboard an airplane doesn't leave much of a trace?  Now that is odd.

What sick weirdo would want an autopsy performed on her daughter before she was dead? Asking for a friend.

Isn't that usual when there's a conspiracy theory forming? C'mon Vanessa, keep up please!

It's not a theory that the left is currently overreacting to almost everything these days, including heartfelt condolances.  ::)
