If anyone listened to Rush today (9/4) was that not JC that called in as the "lesbian" who was gloating about destroying America's moral fiber?  Sounded a lot like him.

It would be nice to hear from JC again.

If they made an exception for you to stream then they would have had to allow others across the platform to stream as well if requested, which is not a good idea if your entire purpose as a company is provide exclusive content that people pay for.  I am not a fan of XM at all because they are a terrible company but I can understand their position in this matter.

Has the reasoning been discussed as to why XM was chosen over regular radio in 2013?

Joe Rogan has mention several times over the years that he used to listen to Art Bell back in the day.  IFArt is still planning on doing a show in June or July being a guest on the Joe Rogan Podcast would get a ton of exposure for it.
