That website's conclusions are probably overbroad since it has a conspiratorial bent, but the studies they cite are legit enough.  Between the fact that the virus was in circulation here for quite a while before anyone noticed and the scare over asymptomatic contagion, it's clear there is something that has yet to be explained and your quoted part sounds possible.  Since the exact mechanism of even the common cold's spread isn't agreed upon it's hard to say whether this is unusual for a virus or that scientists are just looking way more closely at this one than any others in history.  The wildly contradictory advice suggests we are in uncharted territory.

Not a doctor of course but it seems to me the superspreader events which have received so much attention could have purely mechanical explanations.  Is it mouth-breathers who are most susceptible, who are also likely to be fat, taking in great gulps of unfiltered miasma?  People who spray more than others, due either to accent or speech impediments like tongue-thrusts?  The noted prevalence in Quebec is highly suggestive since that accent is ridiculous.  Italians and French, generally, same thing -- if you look at them they actually hold their mouths with far more tension due to the demands of their language, like little spray bottles under pressure.  I would like to see a study based on rhoticity, where the Gallic r with its throat-clearing mechanics would naturally function like an aerial manure-spreader.  It stands to reason.

I listened to the open phone part of Coast last night hosted by nice Canadian Richard Syrett but he sounded quite exasperated by the endless parade of sad sack weirdos who called in, he was definitely agitated by Walt the Skeptical Atheist from Chicago, Louise the Cleopatra Lady who claimed last night she isn't just reincarnated Cleopatra, she is also the reincarnation of Scarlett O'Hara who she says was a real person, Syrett couldn't contain his frustration and asked her 'do you ever reincarnate from just regular people Louise?', of course she had a polite sweet answer to that, and then some guy who lost his best friend, a cat, who went on and on with his sad sack dead cat story forever.

He’s a much better investigative reporter/interviewer/presenter than he is at open lines and who can blame him with that lot of professional callers. He’d probably do better with a real open lines where people were asking legit questions.

Get back to me when you have some confirmed stats for co-morbidity, with citation. Cheers.

One of George's nitwit guests claimed a few nights ago a hospital classified the death of someone who died in a car crash, but had tested positive for COVID, as having died from the virus.  Both my wife and daughter are ICU nurses (40+ years for my wife, 10+ years for my daughter) and they both said it was clear the guest had never worked in the medical field and had no clue what he was talking about.

Those clowns are not professional callers.  Pros would be much, much better.  I was so happy when Richard cut off Cornelius.  And Scarlett O’Hara a real person living in Jonesboro, North Carolina?  I’m sure a real Scarlett, or anyone who has seen the movie or read the book, would know it took place in Georgia.  Why, now I question some of her claims about Cleopatra.

What's with that crap?  "Hey, Joe in 213 just croked from Corona.  Let's get our groove on!"

So, the next time some astronauts buy the farm, I can expect to watch mission control do some celebratory break dancing?

Weird times.  :o

Best of luck with your medical tyranny.

I'm not responsible for any tyranny, medical or other.

Since you are unable to come up with anything resembing a fact in relation to co-morbidity, let's have alittle fun. Johns Hopkins attributes 115, 059 US deaths** to COVID-19. What percentage of those do you guess are mis-reported, actually due to unrelated causes?

For guidance, the figure would need to be 47% for this pandemic to equal the fatalities of the flu season of 2017-18.

** Oops, while we've been idly gossiping here, the figure is up from115,059 to 115,436. Adjust accordingly, please.

Probably a lot given that there really isn’t even an accurate test for it and the one being used yields a lot of false positives.

Easily 70%-85%. It could be many more. I have no real reason to expect that any of the numbers reflect reality at all. All of the data that can be faked, is being faked.

Think, McFly, think. Johns Hopkins is a trash school anyway.

lol it's literally one of the top universities on this entire planet, there isn't a ranking system anywhere that doesn't rank JHU extremely high and the medical school and hospital are ranked 2nd in this country.

but sure, it's trash. if anybody would know trash i concede it would be you.

So virtually every national govt. on the entire planet has been bamboozled into shutting down its economy and way of life on the basis of data that is 85%+ false.

You must be some kind of genius. How do you know these amazing facts? Where can I read the raw data on which you rely?

I didn't think anything could disgust me more than the "health care workers" in Portland who demonstrated against the lock-down protests, and a few weeks later turned around and demonstrated IN SUPPORT of the Antifa rioters...but this does. Is this for real? Not very busy, are they? Must be actors.

Well, considering that the death of drug-addled, ex-con, porn actor, trying to pass a counterfeit $20 bill to buy mentholated cigarettes while knowing he was COVID-19 infected but was not masking or self-quarantining (against government and medical orders and suggestions)  who happened to be black is causing riots and iconoclasm in cities around the world, with no connection to the Gentle Giant ex-con or to Minnesota or to even the USA, makes me think that, yes, governments and populations can be "bamboozled." And fairly easily, apparently.

But back to the subject of this thread. I hope Syrett takes over the show. He doesn't duck out early. Has more interesting callers- even when the same-old, same-old callers call in they have weirder/wilder stuff to discuss than when they call in for Norry. He also seems to be more of a normal person who can some real concerns when the obvious nutso callers callers call in and to his family. Norry always returns to same anecdotes, seems disinterested towards most callers, and just replays old bits so he can duck out. He could be a nice guy. Who knows? But he seems bored with the gig and it shows.

Juan

Syrett probably won’t move to Sherman Oaks to kiss iHeart asses the way George did.  It seems that was a requirement.

Yes, BUT.
But.  The old flu count never included adults over 65 in California.
And the old flu count was not standardized nor required.
So the old count is bogus.

I don't know what to believe about Corona Chan.  I do know I don't trust the statists.  Can we trust the Swiss?

https://swprs.org/a-swiss-doctor-on-covid-19/#latest

"At the end of May, however, Swiss immunologists led by Professor Onur Boyman published what is probably the most important study on Covid19 lethality to date. This preprint study comes to the conclusion that the usual antibody tests that measure antibodies in the blood (IgG and IgM) can recognize at most one fifth of all Covid19 infections.

The reason for this discrepancy is that in most people the new coronavirus is already neutralized by antibodies on the mucous membrane (IgA) or by cellular immunity (T-cells). In most of these cases, no symptoms or only mild symptoms develop.

This means that the new coronavirus is probably much more common than previously thought and the lethality per infection is up to five times lower than previously assumed. The real lethality could thus be well below 0.1% and hence in the range of strong seasonal influenza."
Quite informative.  You've been on a roll lately.

I heard this part too.  Well that's probably true, but it's been in the media that death counts are including far out irrelevancies, like calling a death from a fall a death from C19 if the patient was positive.
