I'm beginning to hate almost everything.

Bad news: you are not permitted to play this YouTube clip until after you have turned the corner and started hating absolutely everything, so you'll have to bookmark it until then.  :(

^^ I just got over Fukushima. Like, instantly. I couldn't care less now. Fuck those islands, and fuck the ocean too--my only hope now is that the radiation damage will erase this vision from my memory before the sweet embrace of death takes hold.

Didn't the Japanese government make it illegal to talk about what happened there?

The area surrounding the cordoned off spot also has high radiation levels, about 2 1/2 times that which is allowable by international standards.  The government is spending billions to try to make the entire area inhabitable once more.  They are FORCING(of going to try to)citizens to return to their homes in the surrounding villages, but many don't want to go.  THey no longer trust the government.

This is one instance where I think the government should shoulder  the responsibility to take care of its citizens.  They should buy out the property at the value that would exist if there had been no disaster.  Get some idea for the price of real estate from pre-disaster sales.  It would be a hefty price tag for Japan but it is the right thing to do.

The Japanese people have a history of being too trusting of their government.  There is all that resentment about the lies during WWII.  Then, they were told that nuclear power was safe and look what resulted.  The government, in response to all that hatred from the people, closed their nuke plants, but want to reopen them and the thought is(I think) if they can get the Fukashima folks to move back maybe it will change a segment of public opinion.

Many geologists believe that heavy structures often will, in time, cause earthquakes.  We have evidently seen some under dams.

And how about that Gerry Todd show? It was one of the first to combine comedy and vidja. Technologically ahead of his time.  :D

Perhaps a better question might be: how can I get ahold of Mariah Carey's money without having to bother with Mariah Carey?

This flick was so far ahead of its time that our culture is still not ready for it.

How is it that in liberal Minnesota they have never had an African-American Santa Claus at The Mall of America until this year?

I have always been partial to Homey Claus:

(Just be sure to start singing when he tells you; Homey Clause does not tolerate laggards.) :(

Lee Ving was excellent in the movie adaptation of the boardgame "Clue" a few decades ago. I saw FEAR once and it was an awesome show him insulting the audience and thrown beer bottles back and forth between him and the audience. Then I forgot where I parked my car (which was a good thing because the wandering around sobered me up and avoided a potential accident or ticket for drunk driving.)

I have never seen Clue but have heard nothing but good, I am gonna check it out soon. He was in a few movies and in 1984 was in a police lineup on a Three's Company spinoff.

What year was the Fear show that you were at? I would have been too young to see Fear no matter what. I'm just old enough to have caught a piece of the end of hardcore punk and heyday of American thrash metal. I missed Venom by a cunthair. I have only been clued in from the mid 80s onward. I did catch some bands in their heyday though, like Suicidal (with Mike Clark/Rocky George), Sisters of Mercy, Danzig (with Chuck Biscuits, John, Eerie), Exodus, Body Count (when all 5 members were still alive) plus Samhain a couple of times in Columbus and Cincinnati. A ton of other bands too but punk was done by the time I was old enough to go to shows. I think the first proper show that I ever went to was PiL. I still go see bands like The Damned every time they come around. The Cramps were another band that never got shitty over time. RIP. Wish I could have seen them, they were still sounding great right up until the end.

I totally loved the Decline movie though, and Fear might have been the best part of it all. X were/are great too. I missed X in 2010, it was the classic lineup from the Los Angeles / Wild Gift period too. I remember watching Lee Ving with Eric Blair about 2-3 years ago, and I think they were on the Warped tour but could be wrong. I don't know what frequency he tours these days. I imagine it's a nostalgic audience these days all chanting "eat my fuck" and "go back to frisco" the whole time. I found the comedy in Gwar's Scumdogs LP to fill the void that Fear created 10 years earlier with satire and tragedy played really fast and precise by highly skilled. Dayglo Abortions (atleast their classic albums up to about 1990) are like that too. Absurd and redic, offensive and hilarious, and fun/great.

The 3 song medley on SNL at Halloween 1981 (Host: Don Pleasance) was really good. There is insight about it by John Joseph of the Cro-Mags on YouTube, as well as a Rollins interview with I think Nardwuar which adds the John Belushi backstory to the whole SNL event. You probably know all about it. Somebody should make a proper documentary about it. Apparently, Lorne Michaels is still pissed and the whole Halloween 1981 episode is treated as though it never existed. Recent re-uploads to YT are watermarked and watermarked again, it's pretty sad.

It would have been great to see bands like TSOL, Minor Threat, Bad Brains, or any version of Black Flag. I think I like Henry's tenure the least of the 4 vocalists, although circa 1984 they were sounding great live while touring for the Slip It In album when they had Kira on bass. They played here but I was too young. I have VHS rips with the local press here when they came through. At the time I only just had a grasp on Billy Idol, or maybe Maiden who were probably doing the Powerslave thing at that time.

Also, American Hardcore is pretty fun.

I am bored, and music these days absolutely sucks fucking shit!

I'll listen to Pastor Butch about twice a year for the hell of it.  I picked a good one this time around.

Ex-Mormon Witch spilling his guts - Shape shifting Lizardmen, Cannibalism, Ceremonial Magic, Satanism, Orgies.
Callers railing about sodomites - it's got it all.
