Oh, I don't know.  Helen Mirren is very elegant, no question, but I always found the price tag dangling off of Minnie Pearl's hat quite endearing:

Perhaps Brig could chime in and tell us which woman she would prefer to be thought as?  :-*

I don't have any preference at all!   ;D

Why did it have to be transparent to begin with. They were building a tank. Why did it have to look like an aquarium?

You're going to build a tank to hold two whales and you don't want to look at them with your own two eyes?

Kind of like for dogs hanging out the window on a trip?

I can't remember. So the whales wouldn't get freaked out?  ???

Seems like they would get more freaked out by seeing people looking at them than if they were inside of a tank.

That trips me out too. A dog will stick its head out a window at 60mph, but if you puff in their face they go nuts.

It's still a little foggy but I seem to remember Scotty saying that only that kind of aluminum would be strong enough to hold them but it hadn't been invented yet.

Ah, I always knew the Irish were connected with UFOs, didn't you?   :-*

Lilith

I think it's interesting how humans project other supposed entities, in their own image, with the same creature needs, but advanced abilities, no matter if describing God or Aliens.

What is funny is that it had been invented in 1984 and the movie was from 1986.

Well Yes, if you consider Leprechauns to be Aliens, and Ireland to be another planet.

Well leprechauns are little men dressed in green. 😉

I had a dog that would swim so far out in the ocean she would have to body surf back in. But then I would take her home and use the garden hose to get off the salt and sand and she would shiver and whine and whimper. Go figure

Personally, I like the Irish, but I understand that not everyone shares that view:

You completed the puzzle! I'm sure that's it. Yeah, it was one of the best ST movies, especially that scene of Scotty trying to use the Mac.  ;D

Heck, kids will swim all day, then whine when mom tells them to get a bath.

All I know is: if I ever see a UFO, I'm going to yell, "Top o' the Morning/Afternoon/Evening*!"

We're gone in 18 minutes so make it snappy!

I usually listen to the KCAA feed now which automatically does that.  ;)
