You say that based on what? Hillary's had tons. Trump hasn't had many even though he's been under the public eye for decades. All we have to go on is how the media paints the scandals, in other words the narrative. If they had something on Trump, it would have sunk him by now. You know how narrative works and so do I. We both know that narrative can influence thinking. Why hasn't the media sunk him yet?

Trump is held to different standards. Most of his supporters have perfected a weird doublethink that can rationalise even his shadiest stuff. He's become the focus of all their irrational dreams and hatreds, so it doesn't really matter what the messenger looks like when the message is so flawed to begin with. The media haven't 'sunk' him, but they have illustrated the most salient aspects of his character, which should be enough to convince most rational adults. He's just Billy Mays crossed with Napoleon. It's clear that he's making everything up as he goes along, but he appeals to a constituency that can't see through the froth. They all but call him 'Daddy Trump' - he appeals to the most infantile instincts in people, and they all want to be looked after like babies.

The point about the media not sinking him yet, and that somehow proving he's more-or-less clean, can apply equally to Hillary. There can't have been a more scrutinised politician in the history of politics than her, and what have they really turned up? Not much more than innuendo and peccadillos. She must be astonishingly smart to be so crooked and evil yet manage to stay out of jail all this time.

But it's worse than that. I can't figure out how Hillary could be issued a security clearance. If you or I had security clearances and compromised them like she did, how the fuck would we not end up in front of a federal judge? Yet she didn't. You tell me how that works and we'll both know.

The email 'scandal' was barely worthy of the name. If that's what gets everyone in a lather over there you ought to congratulate yourselves that you have nothing more serious to worry about. Everyone wants to nail Hillary for something, but they have never made up their mind what they want to aim at. As with most conpiracy theories, it's about throwing enough shit at the wall and hoping some of it sticks. Now they are trying a different tack by telling us that she has a life-threatening illness.

This is the root of the problem IMO.  We have two presidential candidates interested only in acquiring wealth for themselves. Paying for things is what got them where they are, and that is how they will run the country, even the world if they can, ie: acquiring wealth for themselves.  Again, IMO.

I could be wrong, but I doubt whether either Hillary or Trump are in it for the money. I don't think any candidate goes into it expecting to enrich themselves, because most of them already have more money than they will ever get around to spending. With Hillary, it's something that she has probably always wanted for as long as she can remember. She wants the power. With Trump, I really don't know what motivates him. It may be no more than a bored rich kid wanting a new toy to play with. If he gets it (dog help us!) he might get bored as soon as he gets his diminutive little paws on the reins of power. For someone who  has spent so much of his life in the public eye he remains an enigma, albeit a squalid one that I don't care to think about all that much.
