The enemy of my enemy is my friend.  Russia has been fighting Muslim extremists for a long time with little sympathy from the West until we got our own.  I think it's time to put aside petty differences and to unite against these creeps.  I agree with 21.

Well, primitive people only understand force and strength.  The idea of the sanctity of the individual is an alien concept to them.  If we are all slaves of allah, we are all slaves and not worth much.

The only country other than Russia  seriously trying to expand its "empire" is China, and it just got its knuckles slapped by an international court for trying to claim most of the South China Sea (and its islands) as its own. (Not that it's seriously going to stop it, mind you.)

As for Putin, he's successfully gotten away with invading two former Soviet republics and seizing territory. He's also been busy suppressing freedoms in Russia, seizing control of the press, and suppressing any real opposition. He's had a slew of his enemies murdered.

Yet, compared to group beheadings, group kidnap and rape in the name of religion, suicide bombing of innocents, Putin and Russia make sense, don't they?
