Crazy me, I thought "Art Hang it up for the Last Time" post on his webpage meant he's retired. That bit about "I am sorry to have to announce this but I will not be on Tonight or any other night..." had me thinking retirement too. I guess we need to parse the meaning of the word "it" sort of like when Clinton said it depends on the meaning of the word "is."

I challenged Art on this very point, this morning. Yes, he acted as if he said nothing of the sort Friday. I reminded him he wrote "quit". And he implied/said it would be permanent. He didn't seem to agree... smh
