OMG, there's a moon out tonight.  It has been like cloudy and rainy for the last 3 weeks! It's shining right through my office window.  Thank God!!!

And a full moon at that.  Good timing.

Ooh, possession tomorrow night!  Right up my alley!  Not sure that I've heard of Dr. Richard Gallagher though.  Well,  I've got to hit the hay.  G'night TL, Grav, SciFi, WinWin, Dave and all of the rest of you gabbers.

Night 21

Oh wait, Gallagher is the psychiatrist who wrote the Op-ed on possession in the Washington Post. He has a book coming out I think.

Here is the article.

https://www.washingtonpost.com/posteverything/wp/2016/07/01/as-a-psychiatrist-i-diagnose-mental-illness-and-sometimes-demonic-possession/?noredirect=on&utm_term=.0ffc1825291f

Tomorrow should be a terrific show.

I was wondering what was going on.  I saved a document last night, and when I saved it, I re-titled it.  Well, when I opened it today, it had the new title, but a couple hours of edits just disappeared.  I knew I should have saved it in a second place, darn it.  To make matters worse, before I realized this, I dumped my History and cookies...

What's the source, if not biology? Does the presence of God emit photons? Occasionally, and not for a while unless you go with miracles, in which case if you see that, it's time to go Orthodox or Roman Catholic as fast as you possibly can.
Why Othordox or Roman Catholic?

These two guys are so interesting. One comes across as a button downed scientific investigator. The other is Dr. Venkman

I sense that you may be psychically gifted too. We should get together and discuss it...privately...in my office. Shall I pencil you in for say Friday night? ;) ;)

He can interact with any point in time all the time. What’s the problem?

How?

Do the photons reflect differently from a person that has the Holy Spirit from on that doesn’t?

What about from someone possessed by a demon?

Phase shift and different frequency are things to ponder. Science has proven that some “weight” is lost from the body when it does, correct?

What was up with the wormhole tonight? I tried to send a question and it said the sight was "on hiatus". The last time this occurred was after the Alex Jones stuff.

It goes back to the old idea within physics, if god created this universe, he had no choice. As St. Augustine agonized about, if one exists out of time, as God would need to do, then interacting with time becomes quite the problem.
From the little bit I'm catching off the past couple pages it sounds like a potentially interesting conversation.

I'm with you on your thoughts regarding the paranormal- I personally want to believe and I have had maybe 2-3 interesting experiences in my life that I cannot explain and would be easy to write off as being of a paranormal nature- However, I'm no so dense as to label the unexplained as being paranormal.

I've also studied all the fringe topics since the mid 80s and over time all thats been exposed are frauds, charlatans and doubt regardless of what I would like to believe...However, I disagree on your thoughts on God having to be outside of time and unable to interact with the creation.

If you liken it to a computer program (which I do) it would all appear to run in a linear fashion and in  sync with some sort of logical time or progression- So for instance, if we had sentient AI inside a gameworld it would be bound to whatever physics the programmer has put into place- For  The AI in the gameworld would find walls to be solid and impassable based on the logic programmed into the game. The solidity would be real to those bound by it but an illusion to one outside of it - He with the cheat codes.

The sentient AI would be bound to whatever laws govern the gameworld by the programmer- They would be governed by speed, distance, gravitational force and all manner of limitations that in truth would only be real to those constrained inside of the game- The programmer could jump around to any point he wanted, travel back and forth in "time" (as perceived by the sentient AI inside the gameworld)and would be operating above and beyond any rules or limitations that were placed in the program for those who exist in the program.

Why Othordox or Roman Catholic?

They are the only two branches, and possibly coptic orthodox, that reasonably allow for it other than maybe some weird non-denominational sects. Fundamentally though, a ghost pretty much has to be viewed as some sort of demonic entity in protestantism. Being stuck on earth and haunting people is not heaven or hell. It's something else.

Actually I was thinking about ghosts, but it works the same.  Being outside time, they would be aware of every possible consequence of interacting, and choose only those interactions that produce the desired result.

Not really though. God exists, necessarily, outside of the universe. Ghosts exist within the universe. That's two different sets of rules.
But if ghosts are real, and they exist within our universe, maybe they don't follow the known laws of physics. They don't emit photons except when they want to and don't interact with known forms of matter and energy. We're a Type Zero civilisation, and I don't think we know all there is to know about physics, matter, and energy.

Then how would we ever become aware of them since we do exist here in the physical universe?!

They don’t have to emit photons. They just need to reflect them. We don’t emit photons but people can see us.

The question would be, I suppose, is that do they even know they are interacting? There's always been that school of thought that they don't, that they are just replays of historical events, ergo Roman Soldiers marching through a basement in London. Or, could they be interactive? In which case they still exist in this universe and are not in any sort of heaven, but locked here. That isn't very compatible with most religions. In other words, if you see a ghost, then religion has it very wrong.

I get it now.  I am surprised Orthodox and Roman Catholic don't believe in the grave then?  I was raised Roman Catholic, and was taught that the dead are in the grave until the time comes for pugatory?

I haven't seen Ghostbusters in 25 years. It is due for a viewing though.
