Artbell.com linked to a Slate article by The Bad Astronomer presenting data on the varying light from this star from the paper
http://arxiv.org/pdf/1509.03622v1.pdf .  If you look at the diagram with the longest time base, the really big dips in recorded brightness come almost exactly 2 yrs. apart.  This suggests to me it has something to do with Earth's orbit, as if the occulting object is much closer to Earth than to the star.

Does anyone know anything about the speed of the component of the Sun's motion normal to the line to this star?
