Many will have that opinion. But she's one of the big posters from this site, so many are rooting for her, understandably so.

Same boat, don't like her on open lines and don't understand why she's there. Like her as a personality and as a person. Just don't get why there's another voice and awkward Skype timing on open lines now. Art probably wants Red to bring in female listeners which is smart given our modern climate. I'll give it a few months.

It simply will not work. He can listen now, or not. Either way, I'll enjoy the show, just in a less sense. Art Bell is a Legend. This is like Walter Cronkite joining the Today Show. It just doesn't work. Takes away from the effect the show has brought for years. Driving down a road; listening to the stories.. Art's reactions. It's 3 people.. the guest (or caller), Art, and you. Now we listen to another person's comments. I takes me out of the mood.

Take it or leave it. Just my opinion. I'm sure Art is interested in feedback.

Nothing against her. She's doing fine for what she's there for.

This is true. The ambiance is wrong with a squeaky voice added in.
It is too distracting and loses the mystery.

Well I am not sure about bringing more female listeners. Art seems to have a lot already, could be the case though. I hope it's only on occasions.

like a great wrestling promoter, Redacted worked all of us. Herded the sheep to get the word out there. Knowing she was part of the game the entire time. Well played on that part. Her workrate promoting the show is admirable.

As the flirty side kick, haven't seen that gimmick before.

not a fan, however will give it time, hope she does a reverse Rachel Nichols.

Anybody co-hosting would be a distraction. Art Bell listeners have been accustomed to hearing him by himself for many years. It really shouldn't be surprising to see some backlash come from it.

Feeling confident that she was just on as a test to see how everything flowed, technically, with having a guest on. For instance, he discovered the call dropping problem, etc. The tech guys probably have some great data to work with to make sure real guest spots go well.

I hope.

Nailed it. Thank you. I could not think of how to express how I felt. And art acts sort of weird around red. He is making her the mysterious person in the room and he has sort of a smitten school boy way about him. Show started really strong though and I had all of those old feelings all over again.

I think she did a great job, and Art couldn't have asked for a better side-kick tonight. She's a trooper, good on her feet, remarkably familiar with AB show history, and easy on the ears too. I would style her "a comfort", and one that Art _deserved_ on a night like this.

Keep in mind this was a test show and her first time hosting with art. Cut her some slack, she is a nice girl. It's not as if she has been a radio host all her life. I am sure she was nervous.

It may be HIS show but he'll be doing it as a hobby if no one can enjoy it due to the vocal interference, so you'd better hope he doesn't keep her if the sidekick thing turns off listeners.

Hoagland is just as annoying, and I don't listen to old shows he's on. I'll do the same with future shows as well any shows with, "What do YOU think, Redacted?" I don't give a damn what she (or any sidekick he may have) thinks. I LOVE Art but it's just a personal choice. Life's too short.

It seems that he has already said that... I seem to recall him saying over and over he is not doing it for the money. Also seems that he has said 20 times that he is happy to start small and that he is doing it because he loves it.

So... Bring on the hobby and fade away like you threaten to do. Like I said in the other thread, I'm positive you will continue to listen and complain rather than just go away. Have fun- it may be a long ride crying and screaming when you hear her voice on Fridays...
