Hi kids!

Just popped in to say hello....getting lots of much needed sleep this weekend. The grandkids didn't come up this weekend...we all forgot about the yearly fireworks festival in Vancouver this weekend. So many people and the border lines are crazy...so next weekend for the grandkids, I think.

And I was thinking....we need both chats. Total. Wouldn't be able to think straight if I couldn't fishbot from time to time. Loves me some fishbotting. But I think Mr Crow is so right also...we need to have a live thread like Art does for his shows. So, let's have both!

Oh I hear you, WhiteCrow....but I think because we are still just little we need to be giving our peeps more options rather than less. Once we go MAJOR-IN-YOUR-FACE-DEAL-WITH-ME big that will be another story, me thinks. But, of course, you are right...we need a dedicated forum. Absolutely....we just have to time it right.

I know I am probably going to get some "Booooo's" heading my direction for this, but I honestly like MV, and do not say "Praise MV" lightly.  He brings us face to face with our judgements, and our prejudices through his presentation of his choice of avatars, and his freedom of speech attitude toward his forum.  Praise MV!

Hell yeah praise MV.... Without him none of what we all enjoy would of happened. And seriously doubt that Art would of returned if not for Bellgab... And that my friends is a pretty cool thing.

To my knowledge there has been no decision to end the current ICR chat room. It may never happen.

Nancy, Rose and MV will decide what's best and I assume will advise us thereafter.

Turning this thread into a musings type thread would just turn this place into a bunch of incoherent one line posts that would be a disaster to try to read and navigate through. If you want a good example, go to the Art Bell thread when Art is broadcasting and you'll see what I mean.

Discussion threads are NOT meant to replace a LIVE chat room.

NXOEED, the live IRC chats are save-able.  It sounds like you might not have known that. Anyone that is in the chatroom can save a copy.

Haha yeah I know. Ctrl C and I are well aquainted. I just mean that it's more like casual conversation in a chat room. I feel like message boards are where statements and declarations are made. I don't say anything in chat that I wouldn't feel comfortable expressing here. If my "hello everybody" comments show up in a search, it won't kill me. 

I just prefer chat to live threads when listening. It won't affect my listening, however. Just my participation in the discussion, which is usually minimal anyway.

Arite , Just wanted to make sure you were aware:)  The live forum threads are  annoying because you have to keep refreshing them. I hope soon, forums will have threads that self-scroll.  Wishful thinking maybe, but I don't see why not.

White Crow makes some good points--money and income considerations should certainly be weighed in, of course. But I'm thinking this is a pretty early stage, and Bella Haven is definitely evolving as we speak. Seems that mainly focusing on keeping it interesting and evolving and fun (and staying open to and ready for opportunities, if you know what I mean) would be great items for the business plan.

My vote is to keep the chat the way it is ("Don't change a winning game" rule, and all), at least for now. Trying a chat thread in addition to the regular chat might be interesting tho. But even tho the MITD chat thread worked better than I thought it would, there's still nothing quite like the energetic, party-like atmosphere live IRC type chat creates (for newbies as well as the regulars, I think).

And I would miss fishbots.

I LOVE it !!  I woke up this morning, saw your post, and thought to myself, its just nice to wake up with friends like you and listen to whatever you have lined up for me on my morning streaming shows.  I will always listen to SpecSheet and GabCast and Nancy and Rosie, and bateman no matter what decisions they make about their shows, because I like them. You are very welcome. This along with Astronomy and Ham Radio are my hobbies. Astronomy, not so much anymore with all the light pollution here. But Radio is awesome in all it's forms! Thank you for listening. It's nice to have users! The blog used to be all Military and politics but now being retired for the most part, I am dropping the politics part ( except for the Cartoon of the week lol) . Gonna stick with my Spooky shows, Military and Christmas!
