I don't know what school she is going too, but I'm amazed at the luxurious places Universities have become. I didn't even have A/C in my dorm (in Texas!) and the gym didn't have it either. I did a walk through of the gym and facilities after the last football game I went too. Amazing. Flat screens tvs, awesome (new) weights and cardio stuff of all kinds, swimming pool with swim-up bar (I assume no booze since most are under 21,) lounge chairs, WiFi everywhere, etc. This was for students- not scholarship athletes. The off-campus, private housing is also crazy. Like some condo in LA for the Hollywood set. Roof top pools and the works. I can't imagine how students afford such luxury unless rich (or in debt) parents. University administrators admit that they have to "compete" for students and students often consider "facilities and social life" the crucial factor. Crazy.

Best to folks in LA with all that crazy flooding!?

Yep this college stuff is nutso.  She's going to the same school I went to, living in the same dorm, same major, same everything. 
When it is all said and done, the price for one year for her will be just under what I paid for 5 years.  I got thru with almost no debt
by parking golf carts and cleaning golf shoes during the summer.    No hope of anything like that now.

Feeling much better. I still have some treatments to go through but they will be easy compared to before. So I am a happy camper!
