LOL!  True.  But if regular guys like me, you...or anybody else... have a mistake on their resume, or a gap in time, they're blackballed.  I swear all these people are part of a cult.  Art Bell probably has dinner with Greg Noory weekly.  *sigh*  Then again, my mistake is expecting credibility from the guest....errrr....host for that matter.  I need a vacation from my vacation. I can be naive at times.
I've thought this for years. All the "big events" (cruises, conferences, etc) and how everybody is a guest/expert/guest-host on each other's shows over time and non-host guests and "researchers" do everyone's show in a circuit. It is almost like the old days of traveling circuses and preachers. And, like hobos, I get a sense that they leave some "secret marks" by some stations, cities, or people for the next hobo that this place/station is a good 'mark' or will give you free food.

YES!  That's it!

Its a shame that vic pulled an " Art bell" on the strike team towards the end tho, and the actor that played the gay black cop is in prison for murdering his wife.
It seems to happen to a lot of series. Towards the end the writers just don't know what to do with it so they screw it up. Vic of course was my favorite anti-hero on that show. I like Walton Goggins though too.

Hell the ending still made me feel bad for vic ,  walton goggins was pretty good on that show justified.

My favorite quirky guy on that series was the dude that lived in the RV lol. Justified was very good too. I tried to get into Sons of Anarchy but after awhile I didn't care if any of those fuckers bought it--they were all criminals and murderers. lol

My close friend Ian Punnett! Looking good man!

I remember having to pull out an old radio, sit it in the kitchen, and play with it to pull in Coast to Coast Live out of a station up in Canada.  I miss Ian.  His shows are becoming hard to find nowadays.  Wish he had an ultimate collection torrent.

Agreed. He had some epic shows and even towards the end of his days at C2C still had some good stuff because he pushed back against guests/callers on "Bible" stuff, because he had the chops and knowledge so if a guest or caller got too far afield with their theory he could refute them brutally with knowledge. And even his New Years Prediction show was good (King Midas is in the Paladium, small rodents going to start attacking people in Canada, etc)
ps: his "War of the Worlds"-esque "World War Z" episode is one of my favorite C2Cs ever. He pulled it off really well. Basically interviewing after the aftermath of the zombie disease. Not that I believed but the way he and guest did it, was really good. While I was listening I was like: this is going to be a movie. Movie not nearly as good as that Ian show.

Is he the one that retired after having some sort of medical issue?

he has tinnitus real bad. He might still do a little local radio stuff in Minneapolis.  He tweeted earlier this year a tease about some new podcast.

"Our Show of Minds" (just made me laugh is all).  Other Side of Midnight was always a dumb name.  Now, it's derivative of a completely failed show; Hoagie should change it.

Noory's taste in clothes is absolutely awful.   :P  ;D

He's dressed in what is known as "Full South St. Louis."

Someone here told me yesterday that he just got his PhD and just got hired as a part time professor.  He retired from his local show in MN... Yeah, he moved and went back to school for his PhD after retiring from radio.

Anybody remember this flight of fancy from DaveGeorge?

http://dorkmission.blogspot.com/2016/05/the-dreams-of-george-noory.html
I like most of your stuff but on this I disagree, with you. And Norry because, being himself, he can't explain. But what he, I guess, was trying to say, it is like being on Canal St and getting beads and drinking cheap "big ass beers" or going to the balls with the Krewe. Or going to Carnival or going to the private sex clubs in Cologne. Or dressing up for Halloween or going to a Killing Kittens party. Different stuff. Might involve costume but different folks and scene. Not that all of said things end up in wild sex orgies (well some I mentioned by definition do) but only that there is the public face and then the behind, in-the-know after party stuff. And even in mainline stuff like fraternities, sororities, collegiate secret societies,  etc etc there is symbolism, hazing, and sometimes weird traditions or worse. One would suspect more so as the riches increase? But who knows? But the business connections etc made from being a member is good (not saying it would grant one "instant" wealth, but, even just the foot in the door. Networking in a way. The bad side, it could be also a recruitment tool and blackmail tool for some people (since many of the rituals involve exposing one's secrets or etc to gain membership.)
