People really listen to these shows and expect good insightful radio? Am I the only person that listens for the comedy and absurdity? Hoagland, to me, is like modern Dada. And I couldn't listen to these shows without the thread.

Hoagie is a cartoon character. He is blessed with amazing charisma and is a natural entertainer. I don't know if it's sad, or amazing, that he doesn't realize his natural talent and instead wastes it on rocks on moons and planets. But maybe that is the charm? He lives in his own world and it's fascinating to listen too with others.

I listen to alot of this stuff the same way I read sci-fi.  It's mostly all speculation - at best -  but still it's fun to wonder what if a kernel of it were true. 

Occasionally science has confirmed strange theories like relativity or quantum mechanics so it does make one wonder, especially late at nite after a few sips from the ol' whiskey jug.
