The Other Side of Midnight - Richard C. Hoagland - Live Chat Thread

Started by cosmic hobo, June 24, 2015, 09:00:52 PM

The most annoying part of this is RCH talking about how his show can't happen "without a network". He is all about "new thinking" and "paradigm shifts", yet can't wrap his head around not having some large network in order to have a show. His audio quality is ok, and most of his callers are on skype. Nothing I couldn't replicate with a few hundred dollars of equipment.

Richard, set up a damn PayPal link on your stupid enterprise mission site , record the damn shows anytime you want with guests, and then post them to a freaking RSS feed and i will gladly keep sending you money.

If you're just done with the show, then say so, but stop playing victim.

The issue i have with RCH now is he is E-Begger, a internet panhandler.
Plus i just dont care for the guy.
The podcast market is flooded now with these subjects, in Arts prime HE was the man, a pioneer.
Now its all just regurgitated guests that hop from show to show.
Who DO you want to hear?
Bigfoot guy?
Time Traveler Guy?
REAL science guy?
Ghost Guy?
Open Lines?
The point is ALL the same people have been making the rounds for YEARS, Art was the first, now its the norm, he knows that.
RCH has made his lifetime dropping names and the face on Mars, and now he is bat shit crazy.
This genre has MANY options now, 99% are all bullshit and even the hosts know it, however they try to keep it entertaining.
I dont know what everybody wanted when Art came back, the issue is all the guest have done other shows, nothing new to say really.
This genre has been OVER-SATURATED with podcasts and live internet streams, DONT blame producers or Art or any streamer for that matter
because you dont like a guest, once in a blue moon ya get a Mels Hole or a Mad Man Markem, but that could never happen, or take years.
But Hoagie still sucks, he needs to go, mainly because he is nuts, at least Art still has his wit and knows BS when he hears it.

Although it is annoying, he's not the only one in the biz who acts that way.  Gene Steinberg blows him away in the money begging department.

The rest of your post in re to the state of the genre is BANG on.

Hey Bill, we're not dead yet.  As far as I see it, we are all Charlie Mike.

Hey paladin,

When I was in the Nam, in '68, '69 & '70, I was temporary liaison to Marine Corps Sub-Unit 1 of the 1st Radio Battalion stationed at Camp Horn near Da Nang for a week in '68. I was in the Air Force stationed in the Central Highlands at Pleiku Air Base at the time.

Marines had the best chow but weren't allowed hard liquor, so before I left, my Operations Officer gave me a hand full of ration cards to be distributed to the gyrenes so they could buy their favorite bottles. While at Camp Horn I was able to visit China Beach...good times.

Anyway...what is Charlie Mike?

And what are gyrenes?

Marines...are you so obtuse?

I thought it was a name for guy-Marines, as opposed to girl-Marines. And I was a wife, waiting for my hubby to come home from VN in '68-'69. Not that obtuse.

Obviously not a Marine wife.

I wish. He was a second/first lieutenant. That was hard enough.

second/first lieutentant  are ranks in the Army, Air Force and Marine Corps. What is so hard? Telling them apart?

Your husband got home alive. Many didn't.

Yes. He was changed. Died from what his family believes was Agent Orange.

I audited your show after Art co-hosted by RoseGirl. You sucked. You were so egotistical, you thought you should have Hoagland's slot.

SaucyRossy put you in your place, didn't he?

Crawl back to Bell Haven Live where you belong.

it is, thanks.

Glad to help - even if it isn't much help.

I responded and told him I would be tuning in. At least my recorder will be...

Where's all those stacks of email? All those callers "stacking up"? I would think they would throw down for Hoaxy.

Ciardelo

Shit, I'm still subscribing! Why is he quitting on me?

My impression would be there is a struggle going on between Keith and RCH, in which Keith would definitely have the upper hand. It would have helped matters out greatly had Hoaxland been doing more that three new shows/week lately.

I never subscribed to Hoaxland. I'm in on Art at $7.99/mo - I missed the cutoff for the increase by a few hours. If Hoaxland can get his act together my plan is to subscribe to OSOM, cancel MITD at $7.99 and resubscribe at $4.99 - and to let Keith know exactly what I am doing and why. If Hoaxland can't put on a show Mon/Tue I can't execute this plan very well, can I. They need to make a show happen tomorrow badly. Time to man up, boys!

That's a good plan--I got in just under the wire for the $5 for Art... Now is not the time for them to quit.

RCH... Scott... Keith... You reading this?

probably..no...most likely one to be reading it at all would be Keith..RCH's contempt for us is quite high..or is that low...

Would be funny if this is all a plan to get the $5 subs to quit like I did. Then have art come back.

You can subscribe to MITD right now for $4.99.

Ciardelo

So....this was all just a ploy to get me to pay more for mine? Well I'll be damned those crafty people!
