I stand firm by my anti-hoagland values.  I'm coming from the expat/astroguy schools though.  A lot of people seem to have fond memories of him from the olden days when he had a half a shred of credibility.  I think that had allowed some of you to "let the vampire in." I'll give it to him he had a couple of good shows I managed to catch and he can at times be a great host but look at whats happened to his EGO now.

last night was horrid

I don't think anybody actually bought his stuff, despite expat's and astroguy's hand-wringing.  He was accepted only as a lovable nut, now just a nut.

SaucyRossy

Kdubb is right, it wasn't that long ago that I defended him vehemently. But it took multiple wake up calls and a few final big ones for me to realize how wrong I was.

I don't want this to continue because I don't want my name to ever be spoken on that show ever again. I'm proud of the work I did, but dissapointed in myself for my misjudgment. I'm too often willing to trust, and give people the benefit of the doubt and that's because I want to be an optimist, however I've learned something very valuable from all of this and that is to trust your instincts. People don't show who they really are they are right away, usually it takes six months, I'm happy it only took two in this case.

So yeah, I'm going to move forward and leave this shit in the rearview, and make something positive out of it.

P.S. Nancy, you didn't then and you don't now, EVER have a right to be mad at me for doing a good job at something that was never offered to you. So, I suggest you do what I'm doing now and get over it.

I am not as radical as others. For example I vote for Democrats while others would call me a horrible person for supporting one of the mainstream corporate parties. I am practical and care about things like the Supreme Court! I also have really loved Obama's 2nd term for it's social progress. I also like Hillary Clinton which is like a huge no no. :)

Compared to most Bellgab people I am very radical but compared to others I am more practical and realistic. But it's fun to play the radical on here!

You sound about as radical as a typical Canadian.  I suppose that does make you communist in some states.

Wow. Rossy.  Thank you so much for at least some clarification for what has been happening.  You are a classy, stand up guy.  I'm sure with your talent, vision and ethics great things are coming your way

he doesnt care ..but again..remember as Ross said..we are just a small size of his audience ..but i cant see how people could be happy with this producer chiming in on a nightly basis

He spent about ten minutes at the top of the show promoting Club 19.5 and vaguely threatening more commercials if he couldn't get more subscribers.  He obviously felt the disturbance in the Torsion Field.

Saucy , You were a Great Producer , It shows from how naturally as you moved into action for OSOM . The Shows became listenable and entertaining . I hope the best for you , I have had to redefine myself numerous times in Federal Service . I think you will be alright . If you ever need something look to the Swordpoint !

I can't see how, if they did their research, companies would yoke their brands to a psychopath like Hoagland.

Good work and a good - if tough - lesson learned.  Looking forward to what direction you pursue next sir.

Not to butt in but I read that as Nancy kind of joking around there.  I could be wrong though, we squirrels don't always get people conversations.

trostol

i had to correct an idiot on the OSOM FB page last night who said Scott had been doing a terrific job the last few months

"Scott just got the gig..he hasnt done a fine job as of yet...we shall see..he has big shoes to fill for Ross who was the producer"

I was mad that you didn't believe me and chose to throw your considerable talents into a black void. And yes, I am over it.

K_Dubb

Yeah you made a silk purse from a sow's ear, as the old saying goes.  That kind of Midas-touch talent is even rarer than the song-and-dance men up there getting the applause.

Let's be reality, who's giving up money to have their name associated with a noted con-man with a show as poopy as the last two broadcasts and the first few weeks were?

Who's even listening to this crap aside from BellGabbers and the few other dedicated Art Bell forums? Hoagland doesn't even make sense to 99.9% of the free world and the .1% who does understand him realizes he's completely full of shit.

Hoagland is such a liar and it drives me crazy. From all the baiting and switching he did on the show to his claims of success. I don't believe this man can even follow a straight tract of thought without some hook, deviation or self-aggrandization in it.

Maybe this is an inside job to make Dave look like not such an asshole. It's like the Lewis Black joke "How do you make an asshole not look like such an asshole? Bring in an even bigger asshole so that way the original asshole looks like just a rectum."

I chose to take an opportunity that was put together by Art. I chose to try it, I doubt many others here would've said no. And I've been warned by people about you but I gave you the benefit of the doubt and you got mad at me for taking a position on a show that you felt entitled to despite the fact that it was never offered to you. That's petty. I'm not mad at you.

albrecht

so much drama in the lbc.
Man, what drama and craziness in this industry. Rossy, I wish you the best. I never trusted or gave money to RCH but like the shows you did with him. I'm not going to reevaluate the RCH/Norry feud because it sounds like they both bad and increasingly like about everyone, sans Art, Rossy, and few others are crazy. Is this genre of radio run like businesses or like junior high school girls' club or a rap group? Is the money that "great," or so "small," that there is such in-fighting, cliques, personnel changes, personal animosity, drama, conspiracy theory, public displays of dirty laundry; seemingly no contracts, business agreements, lawyers, business plan etc? Is it a business at all?

Nicely written expat!!

OK....maybe all of you know, however I don't so I am going to ask the question.

Who is this ayala who wrote the post which allegedly spilled the real beans on what happened? Can someone tell me why we should believe what she wrote?....just asking....and not saying that I don't....

I'm not sure, but I was told by a reputable Bellgab member (not Rossy) that it was all true.

Warned by people about me? You must PM or email or otherwise tell me what your concerns must have been. Perhaps I could have defended myself so that you didn't have to rely on your instincts.

And there's never been any question that anything was ever "offered" to me. I knew that going in, and thought that perhaps in the forum of free enterprise B-H could go head to head with OSOM and come out ahead. When you left us, I was sad. Admittedly. But this is ancient history. I wish you well with your future history!

I never was working on your show? So what do you mean left you? I was a fan of the show in the beginning, yes, but I didn't "leave" anything.

EDIT: this was a miscommunication and when I said I had heard "bad things" about Nancy, I want to be clear I was in no way comparing her to the others truly awful things

I think what happened is Dick got sick of Rossy constantly improving the show because goddamnit he's been in the business 70 years and used to get drunk with Walter Cronkite, he's not going to let some punk kid tell him how to run his show. Now we're back to the epic clusterfuck this show was in it's first few weeks.

That's the vibe I get as well.

If I was Canadian I'd be a strong supporter of the NDP.

I just had visions of a "reality" show about the workings of late night or fringe talk radio. Better than based on true story drama about that dude that got killed by the neo-Nazis but live behind-the-scenes at DMDN, OSOM, Alex Jones show (the recent divorce settlement and womanizing with hired reporter- alleged- would be high ratings,) Sirius/XM n Art, C2C (the Tommy embolism would get an Emmy alone,) and so forth. Maybe get "Leo" to analyze the recent RCH stuff for added fire? Possibilities endless.
