As soon as it was announced.

For Art's 1st show, I see that you can download separate mp3 files for each day. Is there a way to have your phone automatically download last night's episodes, like you can do with most podcasts?

I want to know this, too.  I remember doing this with StreamLink but I had to go through iTunes on my Mac and then sync to my iPod if I remember correctly.

MikeJ

Me too!  I would like to just set it up for auto download.

NightsAtSea

I'm so glad I signed up to be a Time Traveler! I just re-listened to last night's show via the Time Traveler archives, and while it's definitely not the same as the live experience, I'm glad that I can go back and listen when I want to.

Ok, I traded in a stockpile of acorns and signed up.  :D

I listen live pretty much every nite but I wanted to support Art and some shows I'll probalby re-listen to.  Btw I hope Art starts picking more Wormhole questions since that's a nice perk I'd like to see really used.

Its really an efficient way of getting  through questions now that the show is only three hours ...I've caught myself chanting "Wormhole! Wormhole! Wormhole!" after sending him one.

dan7800

I've sent Art a few messages through the wormhole that I would not have normally sent. I live on the east coast, so listening live every night really isn't an option. I don't pay for anything, but Art is well worth it. The best money I spend every month. The podcast option is great.

I'd like to listen to RCH every once in a while, but I am too cheap to spend the $5 on that.

I don't currently subscribe to MiTD. I hear they will be raising the price, if that happens, i won't ever subscribe. Very few shows so far that i would want to pay to be able to listen to again.

Just fyi .. they're supposedly raising it to $7.99 on Aug. 20.

I've only sent one wormhole message--and Art answered it on the air!  (It was the question about the piece of paper stuck to his clock.)

I don't subscribe to much either, but Ive found it is WELL worth the $5

I'm in and have been for a while.  Worth it when one works days to be able to download and listen and pause when needed (boss coming).

Makes the day go faster listening to Art.

I do catch him on SW some nights when I am up as there are no local stations yet.  I keep after them and am trying to get the old flagship that let that other program go and now only plays trucker over night.

I'm a complete miser but I just feel good about this one.  I've already re-listened to a show.  Also I can relax more when I listen live so I don't fear I'll miss anything.  Making a batch of mid-show nachos can now be done calmly.

I just realized I never got a TT badge!  Is Keith still giving thouse out?  I want mah offical badge y'all.

scottydawg

No cool. Its going to just lead to more piracy.

I'm worried about that too.  I really like the nice clean five buck price point - it's an easy sell.  But that little bit more might push people to raising the black flag.

Rasputin

Yep, I'm in! Its wonderful to have Art back, and I'm saving all the shows. I will say that its a minor PITA loading the new downloads manually, but I can live with it.

I'm guessing that the date you signed on, is the date every month the $5 will be taken out of PP, correct?

Yep, from the beginning. I've never had a paid subscription to something like this before. Art iz speshul.

Still debating whether to subscribe to RCH or not.

TigerLily

Yep.  And thrilled to be paying for the second month!

ziznak

Sooooo worth it!! i get the latest shows on my phone by the time i get into work.  Thanks Keith and Art!!

dan7800

Dumb question, but I wonder how much of the $5 Art actually gets to keep. I think a large portion goes for streaming costs and music royalties. Even if(when) piracy occurs, IDK how much it will actually hurt Art.

Definitely worth it. I won't get to listen live very much, but I love falling asleep listening to the previous night's show.

Plus there are commercials on the live show.

mooneybeams

If I sign up now can I listen to all the archives since he started?  Thanks!

As of right now a Time Traveler has access to all of his shows since July 20th, but I'd imagine that sooner rather than later that will change.

Really?  I see no reason why the archive won't always carry all of his shows.  Are you thinking bandwidth will become a problem?

That was the angle I was coming from. I mean I have no idea what the MITD userbase is like but the best case scenario, numberwise, is the worst case scenario, in terms of bandwidth costs as the show continues through time. I'm not pretending to be an oracle on this one, though.

rkowna

It was an uphill battle but I am finally on board.  First attempt, pay pal fail.  Next three same thing.  Contacted the MITD group about joining, basically called me a moron.  Said call paypal.  Paypal said it isn't us, site sucks.  Finally had to open an entire new pay pal account.  Now I have to find the f#c$Ing thing again because I have a new credit card.  Would climb mountains for Mr. Bell.
