George Knapp

I thought the guest might be squirrely as soon as he took time to do a "shout" out to his bandmates.  WTF?  The whole thing kind of unraveled after the first commercial break, good job on Knapp for riding herd on the guy as well as he did.

I always figured someone who came up with that for the Bond film was a beach volleyball fan.

WOTR

I caught the show and figured it was not too bad.  Knapp only had so much to work with and the show turned out with him trying to keep the guest on track and get the stories out- though there was a commercial break during the story of the plane crash and I seem to recall that the story remained unfinished.  I would have liked a little more info on that- but it is a small criticism compared to what I would be saying if it were a sNoory or Wells lead interview.  Actually, if it were Wells hosting I would have no idea how it turned out.

What a sad state where Wells has over 100 pages in a year and Knapp has under 70 still.  I suppose this is exactly why they have signed a blow hard politically driven jackass.  If nothing else it promotes discussion and gives him (and, by extension, the show) publicity...

When one considers that CG is mainly a place to dump on disliked hosts, I think Knapp is doing fine.

Knapp is bad. Hes a godsend compared to snoory. I can tolerate John B Wells too. I hope they replace the retard!

WOTR

This will teach me for listening to Knapp.  I am so used to time dragging if I tune in to coast that I was completely shocked to hear Knapp sign off... What!  4 hours gone already?!?  And on a work day.

It was not what I would call a riveting topic, but it was worth listening to.  Just a well done interview with good guests.  It is funny as I used to do rodeo and tend to disagree with most animal rights activists.  On this topic I think we are on the same page...

I agree, the dolphins & orcas show was a winner.

YEP!  KNAPP ROCKS!  Wells and Noory will never compare to Knapp's talent.   ;)

Histronic Fop

That show left me craving fresh tuna.

I was stunned to hear Knapp compliment the previous night's Wells show as "excellent".

For some reason last night's show on whales reminded me of the movie Star Trek IV: The Voyage Home :D

Cap'n, thar be whales here!

One of last nights guests did not know what he was talking about regarding eating whale in Japan. You can get whale everywhere, it is fairly common in the winter and served in the Japanese equivalent of Applebees. If you go in the summer no one serves it though.

mombird3

I thought it was a very good show. Knapp is the best host .

Does anyone know when the Knappster's contract is up with Premier?

If he keeps doing shows about marine animals, he will be lucky to hit 75 pages by Christmas.  When the fuck did he decide to become the Marlin Perkins of late night radio?

The demand for that has been growing for years. God only knows how many doorbells I've rung, petitions I've started to see that dream come true.

Even though I truly did enjoy the program (which surprised me).........I broke out laughing reading your post.  You DO have a valid point.   ;D

I am glad your efforts have not been in vain, amigo.  For your next efforts, can I suggest a letter writing campaign to either a) have the entire Van Der Graff Generator back catalog remastered and released on 8 track cartridges, or b) to have Buick bring back the Skylark coupe, or ideally, a) and b) with the Buick having an AC Delco 8 track deck.

No letter writing required for the VDG 8 track dream, I'm currently in the midst of transferring Godbluff on to an 8 track. Quadrophonically. It's magical.

Skylark? That could be an order too tall. Does a Chevy Vega float your boat?

RedMichael

It was off beat enough for me, he did his homework, and he treated the guest/audience like adults. We should all be elated to still have someone who can cover all the bases.

Kudos to George Knapp for his wonderful show on whales and dolphins.  He is a great interviewer no matter what the subject.  I always listen when I know he's going to be on.

Hey, he got an interview with the makers of a documentary that's gotten some decent media attention lately. There's been stories about it on CNN and in Rolling Stone Are you seriously gonna chew Knapp out for doing so?

Any friend of Flicka and Flipper is a friend of mine. I prefer non-animal shows, but I applaud Knapp's humanitarian bent. His reports on wild horses show that he doesn't limit his love of critters to phantom pets. He can't hide his good side just as "someone else" can't hide his bad side.

Uncle Duke

Just got around to listening to Knapp's interview from early last month of attorney Charles Brandt.  Brandt has written a book that apparently solves the Jimmy Hoffa murder case.  Outstanding program, shows just how good an interview can be if the host takes the time to read a guest's book and do a little research.  Brandt seemed almost giddy as a result of the quality of George's questions and insights, like many authors he'd probably slogged through other interviewers who asked inane and pointless questions.  Highly recommend this show!

CampsieNP

I went right out, got the book and read it. Good read.
George Knapp and his excellent interviewing skills made me want to do that.
Art used to make me do that too. The other guy? Not so much.

Tinfoil Hat

Thanks for the tip, Uncle Duke! I'll be checking that one out.

I also have a few others on my list. I caught myself checking dates. If it's a weekday, that's usually Jorch, err Dave who I can't take.

Wells I can stand in small doses. Ian and Knapp, I'll listen to all the way through. Knapp is, in my opinion, the best of the crew.
