George Knapp

Knapp said a couple things which irked me a little tonite but on a relative scale they were like pebbles on the path compared to a Mt. Everest of Noory annoyances looming in the distance.

In other words my delight in Knapp's skill as a professional, prepared, articulate host dwarfs any occasional disagreements I may have with his point of view, whereas Noory pretty much just sucks.

Joseph Farrell, the first guest was OK, though I was bothered by his acceptance of certain premises, such as Harry Truman believing in UFOs, that I think may not be. But these sorts of leaps are not unusual in the Coast to Coast world.
This second guest, however, Brad Olsen, strikes me as a wack job. I could be wrong, of course.

Knapp might be thinking that too, he got a little prickly with Olsen trying to pin him down on specifics.

Yeah, that is the feeling I am getting, too.

Is it just me, or does it sound like Olsen is busy with something else while talking tp GK?

Gotta love the caller, Dan. Classic Coast caller.

Heh Dan is a good one.

The 2nd guest doesn't know anything about blood. Cats have differing blood types as well.

Anyway, this guy is just a paper-mover, taking some other person's research and arguments and regurgitating them.

oh guest, its recessive, not regressive btw (traits showing up in 2nd generations).

Birdie

From what I know about Rh factors, this guy has no idea what he is talking about.
Rh factor has nothing to do with your blood type (O+ or whatever). Any blood type can carry either Rh factor. The problem arises if the mother is negative Rh. If the father is positive Rh, the baby may be, too, and then her body may attack the baby as an intruder. There is a shot to fix the issue. It is a totally separate issue from regular blood type. I think he confused the caller.
There is no reason to worry about it, or even know what your Rh factor is, unless you are pregnant or had a miscarriage. Or taking part in a genetics testing study.

Cool, Knapp will be on 3 more times this month.

Good night, Knapp fans.

FTF, I can't believe you made it to 5am. Three Knapp shows sounds like a good month.

coaster

The second guest last night was a bit hokey.

I enjoyed Farrell's segment on "breakaway civilization" and escaped Nazis, etc; enough to check for a book on it. But Farrell has dozens of sort-of related titles listed and none were linked to the show topic.  He talked a good line with Knapp but his website showed that Farrell to be more of an unfocused conspiracy blogger than an real investigative writer. The second guest was more Noory's type; all hot air with no evidence; he put me to sleep.

I agree; not the best guests. However, my criteria for grading a Knapp show is different from other hosts. The guests amount to about 50% of the grade, while Knapp, himself, accounts for 20%. The remaining 30% consists of bumper music (along with any amplifying commentary from Knapp), overall ambience, and callers; each divided equally at 10%.

Based on my format, the show graded-out at a C+.

GK was, as usual, well-prepped.  You'll never ever hear Noory quote the text in a guest's book in question.

Yep, I heard that in Knapp's voice and questions too.  Loved it.   ;)

NoMoreNoory

For me, both guests were flakes. Farrell's breakaway Nazi civilisation running a secret space mission was at least exciting, though I kept wondering where exactly this 'civilization' is living and how many of them there are. Joining the dots in his 'argument' was difficult to say the least. C2C Guest Syndrome. 2+x=y, where x is a number greater than 1 which means it is almost certainly 2, and y is a number which my research indicates might very well be 4.
Second guest just bonkers.
But, in the hands of GK - in spite of his UFO 'fundamentalism', which irks me personally - it's fine. A competent, intelligent, prepared interviewer engaging with the guest and allowing a narrative and a conversation to flow makes all the difference, doesn't it?
Three more shots of Knapp is welcome news - and a dash of Shrader, too. Shame about the pints of Noory we'll have to swill alongside them.

I think most of the theories have the NAZI fleeing via the ratlines to places where there already had German colonies and settlements for many decades, especially in Argentina, where the Peron government was friendly with the NAZIs. Some argue places like Colonial Dignitdad harbored Mengele (and considering the later abuse, torture allegations, weapons caches) who knows? There also was that weird story about the odd amount of twins being born in the region in Brazil http://tinyurl.com/9cjr4h (UK Telegraph)
Colonia Dignidad

But, from what I could understand of his conspiracy theory the "break away civilization" is really a parallel one  made up on the ultra elites who live in our countries but unless you are "connected" you won't get to really live with them as they have private bankers, security details, entire communities, private sky boxes, etc.

still have to listen to this interview, but Farrell's previous interviews were very similar to the "2+x=y" Syndrome. read his book SS Brotherhood of the Bell, which was chock full of interesting history mingling with speculation. I didn't expect it to totally revise my perception of history, but I did want to be entertained in a semi-factual kind of way-- and it certainly did that!

Looking forward to listening to at least the first half of this show. until I had listened to a little Noory, I had always expected the host to have read at least some of the guest's book prior to an interview. glad that Mr. Knapp consistently meets that expectation.

Yes I'm up for this one as well, always been curious about the VM, and with Knapp hosting it could be a good one.

For anyone interested here's a link where you can page through it.

Speaking of PTSD, is it just me or does everybody and their brother these days seem to have PTSD? I never like to jump to conclusions or make assumptions, but it seems to me that it may be being over-diagnosed.
Shrinks becoming shamans? Does this have anything to do with Obamacare? Does this mean they'll dress up in funny costumes and masks? Some things make me grateful that I'm scheduled to be dead in another couple of decades.

Birdie

It is the little things that count. I really appreciate how George Knapp goes to breaks smoothly and announces the bumper music. And I appreciate his professionalism, in general. I know it will never happen, but I would be so happy if he were the M-F host.

This reminds me: I saw something funny the other day about one state (can't remember which) that almost passed a law requiring any psychiatrists testifying in court to do so wearing a wizard's costume. If I remember correctly, it was in the 90's and the state lawmakers were upset about psychiatrists' opinions being unquestioned in court.

Edit: Found a link describing the crazy (and awesome) requirements. It was New Mexico.

Haha, yeah I don't know about this lady but what's the big deal, don't they have a right to pick which content they find appropriate for their brand?   They have some pretty wild stuff so I don't think they're exactly close-minded.  And what's this going on about "militant athiests", and what does athiesm have to do with crop circles anyway?
