When did george start offering money to callers with financial hardships?

I dont listen to coast much anymore. A friend told me george has been sending money to callers with financial hardships. He asks the caller how much money they need than sends the callers to tommy so to get their name and adress. George than will send the callers a personal check for the amount they need. George is such a nice guy.

I've heard Norry mention this a few times but a far-cry from his promise of a "charitable foundation" that he was going to created to help C2C listeners on fixed incomes or down on their luck. And I haven't heard any confirmation of it. It could be he sends a check. It could be he doesn't but claims he does. He does mention, often, how he gives homeless people "a twenty" sometimes.
