Has anyone else here had an addiction problem?

I was always told I was and was forced into AA and NA. I was then taught it was not my fault because I have a disease. Then I spiraled  out of control and become homeless. Then someone told me to stop thinking something is wrong with me and start doing what makes me happy. So I got up stopped going to meetings and reading out of the big blue book. I started to think it is my fault and need to man up and quit blaming others. Now 20 yrs later I am using and loving it because I do not care what others think. I never had a problem. Other people had a problem and was trying to break me down so I could be rebuilt like them. Well fuck them and fuck society for trying to change me. I must say AA and NA is just another religion set out to control the minds of the weak. Just my opinion and if it helps you then by all means keep doing it. As for me it almost destroyed my life. Anything that has only a 20% success rate is not something people need to keep trying!!1

I went to an AA meeting once. Support for a friend.  (serious) Some guy was running around pouring people coffee saying he was a carpenter just like Jesus. Every five minutes he had to remind us. I nicknamed him Twitchy. Then everyone bitched and moaned about how their lives are so terrible. I don't think there is a situation that would make you want to drink more than an AA meeting. I hit the bar after that bullshit.I figure if you think you have a problem, fucking quit. Deal with you. Fix yourself. You don't need stupid churchy fucks giving you hell over it. Fix your problems and move on.

Now 20 yrs later I am using and loving it because I do not care what others think.

Don't use to despite others. sad excuse. As long as you're happy that's all that matters. I do hope you stay healthy though. Don't overdo whatever it is you're doing.Everything in moderation. I'm just a beer man myself. Cheers.

I have never been to AA or anything of the sort.. My father was an alcoholic.. But I have never been  to find of it.. .

My problem is with Opiates...  Im on a suboxone.. I only had a problem with the Opiates because I couldn't afford to feel good all the time.. I would feel great for weeks then run out and be down in the dumps. . I couldn't keep the roller coaster going with a wife and daughter.. Now im on a great plateu of normalcy and I love it.

I do not. I do it because I like it and it makes time a little more fun. I do over do it from time to time. But only on vacations and holidays but besides that I just chill!!1
