Remember, one to the head.

Various "news" sites have talked about how the CDC etc has said hermetically sealed coffins for Ebola victims and that various government agencies have purchased them. Whilst I'm sure a great boon for the manufacturers wouldn't cremation be a better disposal/burial method? I know some people and religions are against cremation but seriously. Those coffins will likely leak at some point, or get mishandled, or opened years later when a new road is being constructed etc. And the virus could, I guess, still be live. What about orders to cremate any victims? If folks want they can still buy a plot and headstone and bury the ashes there.

Fraid so; Can't even blame Obama (although it won't stop anyone doing so) ...seems it was a mistake, and hopefully not repeated.

Its impolitic to say that Duncan was actually turned away from the hospital the first time because he had no medical insurance and was in Texas, where Gov. "Oops" Perry refused Federal health care (Obamacare)  funds on pure ideological grounds.  Would those funds have made TX hospitals less apt to send uninsured ER walk-ins home with a bottle of aspirin?  Nah.

No guys, it's because Texas as the most free state in the Union and it's an assault on freedom, or at least that's what Steve Quayle told me over the radio.  Also something to do with its long borders.  I don't know.. didn't really get that part.  But I understand freedom and when Ebola wants to assault it I get mad.

Maybe Ebola knew that TX had it's medical arrangements in place, but forgot?

No no you don't get it.  That biological terrorist is assaulting our freedoms.  Like those damn socialists trying to regulate our medicines and license doctors and stuff.  There was a time when any red blooded white man could set up an Apothecary anywhere he pleased and an Asian person was free to go somewhere remote and do his Chinese medicine or whatever.

That`s BS. He was treated. The hospital ran a number of tests on Mr. Duncan when he first came to the ER. The docs decided it must be a wicked case of sinusitis, and sent him home with antibiotics and instructions to follow-up with the doctor the next day.

You mean they can't? Doesn't EVERYONE know that all Asian people are Chinese? Even those who aren't, are. Damn.

Well then, I wonder what sort of 'tests' they ran?

Presumably they didn't 'test' him for Ebola, which seems extraordinarily stupid... but, of course, Texas.

"Duncan had first sought treatment on Sept. 25, five days after he arrived in Dallas. But for reasons that still remain unclear nearly two weeks later, he was released by the hospital, despite telling them that he had traveled from Liberia and that he had a fever and some abdominal pain."

Unfortunately, That information was never forwarded to the ER docs. Thus, they treated the patient as best thy could with the information they had.

Had Mr. Duncan been completely honest, and had he followed up with the docs the following day, as per his instructions, this all may have ended quite differently. It`s all terribly unfortunate.

Because we're so used to diagnosing Ebola, or because Dr Obama was telling everyone at the time that it would never come here?

I'm sure being uninsured had no bearing on his treatment. Sure I am.

He said "slight chance".  Of course, if someone had asked him "But what if the first US case of Ebola is in Texas", his face would have contorted and he'd have said "God help us."

Yeah, because who could have imagined that someone displaying symptoms of Ebola, and who told the hospital he'd just came from a country where there's an outbreak of Ebola, under the current climate of hysteria over Ebola... who could ever have thought to test him for Ebola?

Not the hospital's fault.

I lol'ed.

;D

What, you think it's difficult to look at a blood sample?

Well, yeah, maybe in Texas... and particularly if you're uninsured.

Well, fucked up my quotes, but I'm not fixing it.

Had Mr.Duncan been completely honest Mr.Duncan never would have made it to the USA at all. He lied to get here. And if we had a rational immigration policy and also sensible policies (such as airport screening, banning passengers from infection zones, etc) as soon as Ebola broke out we wouldn't have this problem.
