I variously lived on the street, couch surfed, and lived in the cab of a compact import pick-up for several months while going to university and working two jobs.  It was a horrible experience for many reasons, but very freeing.  It was the only time for a long spell that I didn't wake up every morning thinking about how miserable my life was.  Right now I don't see what your other non-apartment options are besides getting a broken down van and squatting somewhere.

What? No Wi-Fi?

I'm going to save up the down payment for land and move there eventually.
And make monthly payments on it.
Then build a home there.
First, pay off my traffic fines, get my license back, buy an inexpensive 4 x4 with an automatic transmission. I don't buy broken down vans. I can get a Chevy Blazer for as low as $900.
I do know how to lay concrete, build a form and will move on to the next steps.
In the meantime, I will fight the ridiculous " regulations " of my apartment manager.
I just got off the phone with a fire inspector and she said having books in bookcases in and of themselves is NOT a fire hazard.
The county is also violating section 1, article one of the state constitution which grants the rights of citizens to obtain property and enjoy the use of therein.
We just plugged the vacuum in and turned it on and its working again.
And there's a big fire in Martinez.

hahahahahahaha. Thank you for the laugh Falkie. That's one of your funniest posts. You..save money, buy land, and build a home.  Hilarious. You should consider standup comedy.

No; but when they take up room that impedes the place they are. Naturally you didn't tell her that you live in a mess?

AS for the regulations; the manger is working FOR the owners, not you. Do you get that bit? They're doing what the owners pay them to do. If you don't like it, piss off and make way for a family of cockroaches who will have every reason to complain at the state you left it in.

Oh but look again at your terms of agreement as a tenant; you'll probably find the owner of the property (not you) has the right to let out said property to their standards, not yours.

Let us hope the occupiers didn't clutter their place  up or block the windows that would impede the crews getting in and saving their lives eh?

What? The serious journalism will be taking a back seat?

QuoteCALIFORNIA CONSTITUTION
ARTICLE 1  DECLARATION OF RIGHTS

SECTION 1.  All people are by nature free and independent and have
inalienable rights. Among these are enjoying and defending life and
liberty, acquiring, possessing, and protecting property, and pursuing
and obtaining safety, happiness, and privacy.

Okay, that says you have the right to acquire, possess, and protect property if you have the means to obtain it.  You can not be denied the right to purchase property just because someone doesn't like you.  To the best of my knowledge you don't currently own any property, in terms of real estate or housing.  The building owner has the right to protect the property and the obligation to ensure the safety of the other tenants if he has cause to believe your apartment represents a fire hazard, or if the county believes your apartment represents a risk to other tenants.  I haven't been following closely enough to know who's leading the charge but I don't see how the county is violating your right to property which you don't own, unless you are claiming they have no right to tell you what to do with your books (your property).

George posted he is going to lose a hundred pounds and get back into shape.

Moving to the country and breathing fresh air should help too.
George, now that your apartment is cleaned, consider letting Patty or someone else have your cats for a few weeks and see if that helps with your lung problems.
My sister did that after husband forced her too, she claimed the cats weren't the cause of breathing/lung issues. They were, she never took them back, even though she loved them dearly.

If plan on building a place in the country don't rule out buying a van. Room to sleep, store tools and great for hauling building supplies.
Coaster is a builder and could probably make a good list of tools you'll need to build a home.
Here's my 'short' list to get you started, maybe can look around for some used tools on eBay and rummage sales.

Chop saw
Circular saw
Jig saw
Air compressor
Air nail guns
Hammers
crow bars
Router
Sanders
Dry wall tools
Plumbing tools
Electrical tools
Wood clamps
Staple gun
Saw horse
Electric drills and bits
Paint brushes and rollers
Wheel barrow concrete mixing tools
Hoe
Ladders
Putty knife
Screw drivers
Files
Chisels
Extension cords

I need to stop reading the thread as it just leads to questions...  I have done some concrete work and would like to know how somebody who is disabled enough to be unable to complete his own cleaning (and require a tax payer funded cleaning lady) plans on completing a foundation?  Unless you mean that you will supervise Patty while she lays the forms and spreads the gravel?

One day Falkie is applying for a government-funded caregiver, the next he is planning to buy land and build a house.

They had already been told at length about my health issues and my inability to get a caregiver.
In about 2 minutes the director of housing called me herself. i told her at length about the history of my health issues and the problems with this apartment AND that I am going to be interviewed for a caregiver by the county sometime this week.

I suspect Falkie saw a documentary on it or watched a work crew and didn't appreciate the physical labour in involved.  He will probably prove me wrong though.

Its been 50 years or more but i used to help my brother and law and his 3 brothers when the built new houses in the hot summers in Pittsburgh.
i haven't fogotten how lay concrete, sidewalks, put in a wiring box, plumbing, outlet, nail dow shingles and so much more even if I can't do some of the things physically I can show them how to minimize the bubbles in cocrete, how to keep it from cracking, etc.

In the meantime with just 4 days to Art's new show here's a very, very special commentary from Art's new co-host Re-crackhead and even Art himself at times.

Sheesh.

Anyway, its comedy. Go with the flow allready.
I'm sure Re-crackhead would say she'd been misinformed.
Or misformed.

Why didn't you do a video on your and Patty's intervention with Kathy?

So, it looks like there is video proof that Falkie is really a 12 year old child in the body of a 60-ish year old guy. Not sure if that is funny or sad....

Obviously you never heard of habitat for humanity where volunteers build an entire house.
Part of my problem is that I weigh too much, remember ?
If I engage in some physical labor I will lose weight thus making it easier to get around.
Even people in wheelchairs have helped build houses.
And as i have said, my problem is intermittent and I can do certain things just not very long.
Stove and kitchen floor is done. Now to do bathroom then sleep for 2 1/2 hours and go at it again.

Maggit? Are you kidding me Falkie? I've sent you 2 PMs with his phone number and this is the thanks I get.

Forget it buddy. Don't bother calling my friend. He will not help you now. If I wanted to be mean I'd tell him to do everything in his power to kick your mooching ass out of there.

I hope Art sees this video so that he will finally see how much you hate him. Noory really did a number on you.

I am going to be interviewed for a caregiver by the county sometime this week.

How did your interview go?  Is the county going to assign you a caregiver?  I'm truly sorry your health has deteriorated to the point that you need to have a person come to your home and assist you with routine activities, like bathing, dressing yourself, preparing meals, burping you and so on.

Will this caregiver also help you chase Dave Noory and Eric Pearl around the state?  Will the caregiver help you make new videos for YouTube?  Will the caregiver help pour concrete for the new house you're going to build?

The thing that Senda doesn't and never will understand, is that you are the latest in a line of those who have tried with good grace and goodwill to help him. But either through stupidity or basic bad manners he has pissed them all off so that now those who might help, won't, because it's a matter of time until it's thrown in their faces. So fuck him.
