No, Art demanded they allow him to host a free stream on his sight, where he would no doubt have received a good amount of add revenue.  And he gave them one business day to comply.  He either knew full well that that was not enough time for any large corporation to make a decision - not even enough time for the legal, IT, marketing and other groups to hold a few meetings even - or he has no freaking clue how businesses operate.

That would seem to make him either greedy, a diva, clueless, or a combination of all three.  Not a great list of choices.
Not sure where you get your info. Could you give me a link or something to this one day demand stuff? I'm calling bullshit.

Xm/Sirius got a big belly full of Art ''the prima donna'' Bell. They are probably thrilled to be rid of him.

I already have over 20 signatures in the few minutes I created his petition! http://www.ipetitions.com/petition/artbell/

Here is what I didn't like about Sirius

Art was the ONLY program I listened to. 500-other programs that are completely disinteresting, is meaningless.

I don't like paying to listen and then being chained to a device or a computer to listen to it - try having art on in the Kitchen and your office simultaneously.

The program would drop off for no reason.

I love listening to Art, there simply is no other radio personality that comes close, but listening HAS to be at the listener's convenience.

Lastly, for those college graduates at Syrius: Radio is NOT TV, and only juveniles listen to Howard Stern regurgitating the same shtick since 1985...
Similar experience.  I bought one of those FM transmitters CCrane hawks to take care of the problem of being tethered, but it is still  frustrating to have to go back and reset the iPhone or computer after timeouts/dropouts.

Too bad they couldn't make it work.  We got along without Art Bell for a decade and if we have to wait a while for another show, we'll be ok.  And we'll listen as soon as he comes back.

Miranda

It's probably useless. There's been a petition going on for months to try to get Sirius to bring back Book Radio, which they coincidentally dropped at the same time as they announced that they were bringing Art Bell on board. They won't budge on that and they're not going to budge on this either. And sadly, even if it did happen, I think we all know deep down that there would just be some other problem down the road anyway.

I see. But it really can't hurt can it? I would still like anyone and everyone to sign it. At least it can show SiriusXM and Art Bell how much we want to keep him.

Luna

I'm hoping for more love and support!

FYI - Keith gets the ad revenue from the ArtBell.com web site. Art wears glasses to add to his sight. He had mentioned the "important announcement" for a couple of days ... so I seriously doubt he had waited until Halloween to give the ultimatum... that's just when he told us about it.

Signed the petition and sent emails to Sirius customer support.
Great, spelling lessons from Phrodo.  Guess you read Tolkeen, huh? Eat a sack of dicks.

It sucks people have to resort to insults and hateful talk to each other when they don't like what each other thinks.  I signed the petition.  I'd like another petition that convinces Art Bell fans to be reasonable to each other.  Luna:  I don't know what your heartbreak was, but I'm hoping for healing times for you.

This forum needs moderators to force people to not be jerks to each other.  If you people behave this way in real life, and at work, I wonder how you get through.  Folks, be civil and stop calling each other names, do you think Art likes that?

I signed the petition. And I've also sent emails to Sirius.

You do know this is bullshit right ? It's Art's choice and Art's made up excuse .

EarthAlien007

We could always put up a ton more Pirate streams. They've been good lately.
If SiriusXM is too lame to fix their stream, and won't let Art do it, there is another solution...

popple

Maybe they will compromise on an "art bell package". For example a person would pay say $5 a month and you log in through artbell.com using a sirius pw. There could be a siriusxm like player but it's only art bell but commercials still advertise other sirius shows and a full sirius package during breaks. DM will still be carried through the main online streaming.

That's the best I got.

Max_TO

People , it's bullshit .

Art quit because he doesn't want to do the show

Art left in the fashion he did because he doesn't care about those who follow him , his " fans" .

Funny that his dark matter crap is still up for sale though , that tells you something doesn't it ?

So you think Art can be brought back by complaining to XM ?

Did I say that? There's more going on here than we know.
I do feel sorry for their stockholders. They clearly have no vision to grow.

It's the topic of the thread , get Art back by bitching to XM .

On that I call bullshit . And to prove it they should allow Art to do free streaming and then we can see Arts new excuse

Lol I bet Art was hoping for the government default so he could have blamed that .

Got to ask if you feel sorry for all of the people that paid for a years subscription for Art to just up and quit leaving his fans stuck flipping the bill .

That's how you seek a solution? Bitching?
Promoting the apocalypse would be a great hobby for a lot of negative posters here.

Don't bother wasting your time with e-mails to Sirius.  Send your e-mails to Art.

Subject line: Honor Your Contract.

Is there some rational reason you place a space before the period in your sentences?  Not to be unkind, but some people take a poster more serious when they use normal grammar.  But some people make their own rules.

Now, you don't know anything more than anyone else, and your opinion is just as much a WAG as anyone else.  Art did give good reasons for his other absences.  Yes, they could have all been lies, but I haven't seen anyone credible come along and dispute his statements, and his argument is that he's fighting for the quality of his show and the rights of listeners.

We need to watch, wait, and see what can be seen.

How about all of us chip in $ 5 a piece and launch a contest for an Art Bell voice impersonator ?
He could come on a podcast and do a show and call it NOT Dark Matter with NOT Art Bell.
And yes, I have more than $ 5 in multiple bank accounts so I'd be ( dare I say it ) " all in ".

Got me to thinking ... since Art was so concerned about the default that didn't happen, is this now the ART BELL DEFAULT ?

Oh, yeah.
I don't know if anyone has posted this anywhere but now Nostrildamus has put his 2 cents in and now says he predicted it all.

So it was written, so it should be done.

This statement is from John Hogue and he wanted me to share it with all of you here at Dark Matter XM.

Thanks Bob for making me aware of this news. I can't say I'm surprised. I predicted that if Art didn't redefine Dark Matter beyond some grudge against Coast to Coast AM, and those like myself who appear frequently on it, that the underlying negativity would work to take Dark Matter off the air before a year is out. I didn't realize the message meant before "this" year was out, but so be it.

Let me make two things clear, especially to any of your chat room readers who still harbor raw feelings about my public falling out with Art Bell.

ONE: do not mistake my clarity as aggression. Clarity can cut. My reviews about the 4th October show were sharp. The situation necessitated it in my view.

TWO: Let's get this clear, especially people writing me under a false assumption that I closed the door on doing future shows with Art Bell.

I did not shut the door on Art. Read my two articles.
