Let's change SiriusXM's mind!!! Support Art Bell!

Luna

First of all, I'm not good at speaking out as I'm usually introverted, but I need to try to do something. Art Bell has seen me though rough times in my life. I started listening to him since I was 13. I am now 28 and I am over the moon to hear his voice as it once was, especially in the heart breaking time of life I am experiencing right now. I KNOW many of you feel the same! Has Art Bell seen you though good and bad times too?

_______________________

I understand that there are a lot of bitter feelings towards Art Bell, but there are still a lot of us who love him and want to hear his shows go on whatever it takes.

First, email customercare@siriusxm.com and ask to allow Art Bell to stream Dark Matter live on his show and let them know what a benefit he will still be.

Second... Sign this petition  http://www.ipetitions.com/petition/artbell/

Also,

Let's send SiriusXM a letter about our desire to continue to listen to Art Bell's Dark Matter!

Yeah, I'm with you Luna.
Art is awesome, and no one knows what's really going on behind the scenes.
I'm getting tired of all the trolls, but I hope all the hits on the site are good for MV.

I support you.
Thank you very much! I am in the process of posting more information and will have a petition here soon. I am also in the process of writing a letter and I will send it out tomorrow first thing.

I can get behind this. I'm bummed he's not on, but I'm not about to assume the worst or catastrophize (god knows I've wanted the benefit of the doubt in my life). I hope he comes back and am willing to write a letter to help that happen.

I'm bummed he's not on. I'm a huge Graham Hancock fan and I was totally looking forward to tonight's show. But  whatever is happening with Art... I support him. He said he'd be happy to come back if they fix their streaming.

Luna

I assume the worse as well, but I am a bit desperate to hear more shows. He is really theraputic to me. These small posts give me a small amount of hope;

art is only doing what he did because he cares about the fans.    i  will for sure be contacting sirius xm customer service tomorrow morning

Too much time on your hands? Seems rather pointless. Sirius made their decision. They are not in the business to lose money.

Yes! And though streaming Dark Matter though his site, everyone in the world can listen to him easily once again. It's so hard for other countries to hear his voice again.

I don't believe they will lose money. I for one would keep a subscription for SiriusXM if Art Bell is their streaming his show, regardless on weather it is also available live and pirated on YouTube. I believe they will gain more listeners because new shows will be discovered by Art's listeners.

You reek of sycophant.

I have to say that I agree. This isn't Sirius's problem, but Art's. From the beginning they were supportive and accommodating in many ways. They've done him a favour in giving him a new show and platform. The whole call-ins/bad quality is just a overblown excuse from him and I think it's unacceptable.

Keep huffing the AB glue there. He has let his fans down, but clearly he wasn't in it for us. Just for himself or the money. Or both.

NOTE: I'm not a Sirius/XM plant or whatever, just a disappointed fan.

How would fixing their stream or streaming Art's show live not promote Sirius?

Obviously not the money, considering how low his salary was.

A free stream would give an incentive for people to cancel their subscriptions, don't lie.

I also think a 68 year old man with 50+ years of experience in the radio industry can fight his own battles. He could be back on the air tomorrow night if he chooses to be.

I thought Art said he wanted them to stream it free for a year and a subscription to sirius is 180 a year I think. That adds up. They bent over backwards for him, built him a studio, changed things to suit his show. They refused one thing and diva Art was out. Don't get me wrong, I don't even like Sirius and wish Art would change his mind, but its a business, not a charity.

LMFAO! At least I'm loyal  ;D and not a troll.

Are you going to have the same attitude the next time he pulls a stunt like this?

I have 6 links on my desktop to listen to Dark Matter live for free.
Free streaming from Art's site would give Sirius a worldwide audience and the opportunity to sell online subscriptions worldwide and show all they have to offer. But Sirius is a lame product, they can't deliver, so they backed down. A company of quality and integrity would jump on it. Sucks for the stockholders. No growth in this company. They want podcasts for car radios.

But anyhow, Art just asked them to fix the streaming!

Art pulled no stunt. I'm with him all the way.

Luna

I just created a petition. I know it might seem hopeless, but it's something.  The wording needs improving, I accept any suggestions. In the mean time, I'll try to fix it. I haven't done this stuff before.

No, Art demanded they allow him to host a free stream on his sight, where he would no doubt have received a good amount of add revenue.  And he gave them one business day to comply.  He either knew full well that that was not enough time for any large corporation to make a decision - not even enough time for the legal, IT, marketing and other groups to hold a few meetings even - or he has no freaking clue how businesses operate.

That would seem to make him either greedy, a diva, clueless, or a combination of all three.  Not a great list of choices.

Quick Karl

Here is what I didn't like about Sirius

Art was the ONLY program I listened to. 500-other programs that are completely disinteresting, is meaningless.

I don't like paying to listen and then being chained to a device or a computer to listen to it - try having art on in the Kitchen and your office simultaneously.

The program would drop off for no reason.

I love listening to Art, there simply is no other radio personality that comes close, but listening HAS to be at the listener's convenience.

Lastly, for those college graduates at Syrius: Radio is NOT TV, and only juveniles listen to Howard Stern regurgitating the same shtick since 1985...

FYI - Keith gets the ad revenue from the ArtBell.com web site. Art wears glasses to add to his sight. He had mentioned the "important announcement" for a couple of days ... so I seriously doubt he had waited until Halloween to give the ultimatum... that's just when he told us about it.

Signed the petition and sent emails to Sirius customer support.

You are correct.  I think he was looking for a way out for whatever reason and hit the jettison button over this contrived issue.
