There's that, there's also the brewing Heather nervous breakdown which should be happening anytime now. Art can't go on and bullshit his fans like he was setting up to if she's a complete wreck. I almost want to make a betting line as I feel there's maybe a dozen different choices with odds. There's also a good chance he goes with family emergency. There's the stalker angle... I think I'm going to make a betting line.

hah, yes I am. thanks for the welcome. Were you ever an Art Bell fan? If you were, everything else is just details. All the drama, just details. The fact is that he does GREAT radio and if we have a chance to hear more of it we should try to get him back on the air. If your aim is just to get satisfaction from airing your grievances, I would think that it would be a short lived good feeling but imagine him doing just one more show. That is priceless.

The problem with this suggestion is that questions/suggestions/etc aren't going to have any effect whatsoever on Art's decision to remain off the air.

Because the only way that he's ever going to be assured of his safety with broadcasting again, is if the stalker is caught.  But the only way to catch the stalker is to go back on the air.  So it's a Catch-22.

If there were some other way to catch the stalker, it probably would've played out by now.

It's a logical impasse at this point.  Unless something changes (the Bells moving to a new location, or Art taking a pro-active role in catching the stalker) it could take years (if ever) before he feels comfortable assuming that the stalker no longer poses a threat.

I suppose it's possible that the harassment/accusations/etc that he's been subjected to lately, could reduce his motivation to act toward resolving the situation.  But I don't think that any level of encouragement from his fans is likely to motivate him enough to risk going back on the air to catch the stalker.  He seems to want to catch the stalker without going back on the air, and that's simply impossible.

No Fidge, it's just batshit crazy stuff that we all shake our heads over. Everyone's been asking you a pretty simple question, why did you take people's money without delivering the fidgets and then not refund the money? It's a very simple, very reasonable question man and I haven't seen you give a solid answer to it. Don't dance around it, just give a solid clear answer. Try to condense that answer into as few sentences as you can, I say that for a reason.

I met the man in person 20 years ago. We run in some of the same circles, and in fact, the members of the anarchist co-op I'm affiliated with remember him well and hold him in high regard. While I don't know Mr. Fidget any better than I know anybody else here, I believe that he and I live similar lifestyles, and speaking for myself (not for him), I can say that mail-order anything can get a little problematic at times.

That was the number one reason people who requested signed, high quality MiTD posters from me went largely un-replied -- not because I didn't want to send them out, but because it was almost like hearing, "Go ahead and build me a yacht, and I'll reimburse you later." I could totally fold up cheap copies and send them out in self-addressed stamped envelopes and send them out, but getting nice ones printed up and sending them out in bubble-wrap envelopes is not something I would be able to commit to. And then they'd say things like, "I'll send you money via Paypal", which, to a guy like me, is like saying, "I'll staple a check to a pigeon's wing and hope it gets to you." Guys like me barely exist on paper. We're more likely to find our lunch than to buy it. We stay in insane, chaotic environments, and never really learned how to relate to the outside world the way that we were supposed to.

While I can't speak on his behalf, I can guess that folks who back-ordered Fidgets from Mr. Fidget will probably get them at some point.

I don't like it when people try to insult my intelligence. Period. Art Bell, George Noory, or Moon Man. It doesn't matter.

Art Bell didn't hurt me. He hurt himself with foolish posts and he knows it. He doesn't owe me (us), yet he keeps coming back here after vowing he wouldn't. Praise and attention are his vice. His drug of choice. Besides women, I guess...
