But his crime is a moral one, not a legal one.  There are innumerable ways to be a dick within the letter of the law.  The problem is that, in an anonymous forum, the normal social penalties for a moral crime, e. g. ostracism, are impossible to enforce.

The closest way of approximating this would be to conduct a poll in which a significant number of negative votes would result in banning.  Though the traffic generated by such a circus would no doubt be lucrative, I can understand MV's reluctance to undertake something like this on principle.

I don't see why this couldn't be an option.  How many callers is Heather taking right now? 4? I don't know.. not many. Not as many as Art has.  Why is there even a need for callers? Many people do interesting shows w/out them. Howard Hughes comes to mind. The shows might be shorter, but so what? Shorter is better if Art's family would be safer.

Noory has been consistent all these years. He may not be up to everyone's expectations and has been criticised, spoofed, mocked, and parodied in unflattering ways- BUT- he still shows up every night. I think he deserves at least that level of recognition. So, once every 13 years he has to take time off for a molten pizza roll accident, and I'm sure we'll still hear about it for another 13 years, and there's no reason to think that there won't be another 13 years. Therein lies a critical difference that I see- not everyone may agree. After all, it has been said that just showing up is 80% of success.
