Seriously, there are only two logical reasons that AB quit (and he already posted why).

1) He simply wanted to retire and didn't know how to tell his fans.

2) He was threatened with his hand his family's lives to quit.

Your asserting the sole intent behind these incident(s) was--terrorize Art into quitting. There's no evidence supporting that specific claim.

I know Art did what he thought was best for his family. I don't fault him for that.

I think the ship could be saved completely if Art just releases a statement saying he's taking a break for an indeterminate short period of time to address this situation, he made some rash decisions out of panic and that he'll back soon.

Yeah he lost an affiliate and looks like a disgraced loon right now but this could be overcome pretty easily if he wanted it to be. If he left for a week or two, did what he needed to do and then jumped back on the air and delivered a solid two weeks on the radio all of this would be funny and forgiven.

Also I think Art doesn't quite understand social media in 2015. All of this shouldn't have played out publicly and I think all the negativity is getting to the machine. But in 2015 people are just bitchy, entitled and complain about everything. That's what people do.

His big mistake was using that four letter Q word that he's been known to throw around so recklessly. I get that his family is threatened and everything but if he had simply said that he was taking a break as you stated then he could have avoided the negative fallout.

According to Rowlands post it seems like they did keep some but only for 30 days.

Yeah definitely, I said a long time ago a 72-year old with a family and a young kid trying to do three hours a night, five nights a week sounded crazy but it worked for awhile.

My idea would be have rotating hosts from DMRN. Art would host Monday and Friday open lines, then you rotate all the other hosts Tuesday through Thursday. We still get Art, all the emerging talent on DMRN (and there's quite a few of them) get exposure on the flagship and everyone wins. You have tons of great backup quarterbacks literally on your network, there's no reason not to utilize them in whatever this issue is and build their fanbases.

The rotating hosts with Art idea is kinda similar to what happened in the last year of Art's weekday c2cam period (2002) when he had back problems, the network started using rotating guests host to fill in a lot then.
