YNOT

Just some more idle speculation.  Snoory seems to like himself on TV.  Perhaps he'll leave CC to go to the History Channel or whatever.  He certainly doesn't seem to be excited about CC.  The way he host the show reminds me of of my wife playing Zuma Blitz or Angry Birds... He's just burning time because he's bored and only half interested.

You're so right.  He's bored by 90% of the guests (only interested in a narrow range of topics) and doesn't bother to read their books or research their areas of discussion before the show-->therefore can't/won't/doesn't want to be bothered to do more than ask the canned questions he's got on his 3X5 cards.  Too much trouble to actually listen to the guests and make logical follow-up comments or ask logical follow-up questions.  To the phones we go!!

And when he gets to the phones, he doesn't bother making sure the callers' questions are taken seriously, answered by the guests, or treated with respect.  He cuts callers off (and I don't mean long-winded nut jobs), misunderstands what they're asking, mocks them, or forgets what they asked before the break.

Hopeless ego.

And yet, there he is - constantly carrying on about how 'innerested' he's been in all this since he was a child.  If he isn't lying, why does he seem to know so little, be so unprepared, ask such pointless questions.  A person that actually was interested would have tones of great questions they've wondered about and would delight in asking the guests.  Not George Noory.

Can anyone recall even one good question George ever asked any guest or caller, even accidently?

Fort Rock must be burning through kleenex boxes about now and I don't think he is crying.
LOL, classic.

Sent from my Droid X.

Does anyone know if AB brought the cats with him this trip? As I recall it costs $2000.00 per cat per trip so if he brought them that might mean something permanent

reportedly he did, however that high charge is apparently only one-way to the Phillipines, not coming back.
He did so a few years back too when it was just a temporary sstay before returning to Manila. So can't assume its a permanent move until he says so, and he hasn't so far.
Have to avoid jumping to conclusions like the infamous Fort Rock character, remember...

Fly By Night

Fort rock created an illusion out of nothing. Almost everyone knew he was full of complete bullschmidt. Art, twice saying stayed tuned referencing his future in radio has some tangible substance. So, it's Art. He may wake up saying, I'm too tired. Then again, he may come back thundering, from the kingdom of Nye. All in all, one has to be honest and say Art living back in NV saying twice stayed tuned, is the best news in years

Rumor or not, possible illusion or not, it gave me at least something hope for after I suffered through an hour or so of open lines with Snore Boy on Friday night.

+1 for me too. My streamlink account came up for renewal not long after AB "quit" coast (coincidentally about the time this thread started) and I didn't renew. Whilst Snoory is at the helm and no Art on C2C they won't get a cent from me.
I did the same thing. As soon as it was clear Art wasn't coming back for his normal broadcasts, I cancelled my streamlink account. If Art comes back, I'll gladly sign up again!

The Facebook link posted earlier takes me to my own Facebook page, so it may do the same for others who have FB accounts.

If so, try this link to Art's page. www.facebook.com/#!/profile.php?id=100001143852663

Maybe it will work, maybe not.  FB is FB.  ::)

Well, it's sad that Art has officially retired from the show.  I'd hoped he'd at least stick around and do one or two yearly, like Ghost to Ghost or something.  But, I understand he's no longer a young man, has a wife and young child now that he wants to be with.  Perhaps, sometime in the future he'll pick it up again and do some shows here or there, but only time will tell.

I did at one point about a year ago find a site with all (or most) of the coast shows available as MP3 download, but for the life of me can't find it anymore which saddens me.  anyone know what it may be?

The thing I missed most was Art's personality, his no-nonsenseness, and that he didn't screen his calls - if it rang you got on, at least for a bit.  He had his own online messages, his own fax, and if you sent something he got it.  Now, some producer gets it and decides whether it's air worthy or not, which stinks.  Most of the fast blasts, texts and emails they put on are just boring.

I believe I know of this site you speak of. For the life of me though I cannot recall the name of it. I believe Preimere had them shutdown. The web url was not a normal one, I remember that. It was in Canada or on an Indian Reservation if I remember right?

I've been periodically listening over the past month and have heard nothing but dead air and static. Still it has been more entertaining than a Snoory broadcast.

At first I thought you were talking about a Snoory broadcast.

kf5iwe

I went to see a friend of mine. I last talked to her about a week ago. She is very concerned about the direction of the country as am I. But friday night I joined this forum and learned the possible good news about the future. We started talking and I told her everything was going to be ok. I told her a hero from the past was going to return and remove the evil. She said Reagan? I answered ART BELL!! She said what the &*^&*^ was I talking about and who the ()*&(^&) is Art Bell? I attempted to explain but I don't think I got through to her. She never listened to C2C. She dose not know her baby might be a hybrid. She dose not see shadow people. Never heard of Mel's hole or Art's parts. She sleeps normal hours. :o

I think that Art is working on a satellite radio show or an internet radio show of some sort. Anyway thats my 2 cents for today..

those are both highly doubtful since Art said many times in the past he is an old-fashioned airwaves free broadcast radio guy only.
he commented several times before that he would never want pay satellite radio or non-live internet podcasts formats.
looks like he is retired for good to spend his time with his young family and ham radio hobby only.

For as many times that he has said that he would not want to go pay-satellite or canned broadcasts, he has said a million times over that "radio is in my blood" and how once that happens to you, you "never truly retire from radio" because you "just can't stay away"

Yeah I have heard him talk about that a shit-ton more than I've heard him say or convey the emotion of "I don't like new technology."

I feel exactly opposite of your post.

I am having a hard time articulating and now I feel that it's time for me to burn one.

He could re-think pay radio, lets hope so.  It may not be quite as accepted yet as it will likely be in time - wouldn't someone love to get him to do a show on it as a way to get new subscribers and widen the audience base.

I do think anything he would do would be live, so podcasts or something on YouTube seems doubtful

jazmunda

I'm still doubting the whole return to radio but I'm starting to think we might see a return of www.artbell.com

What is the feasibility of Art returning to Dreamland? It's one hour and wouldn't take that much prep. I first heard Art on Dreamland and loved it immediately. Does Premier own the rights of Dreamland?

Last I heard, premiere dropped dreamland completely from their schedule. This is from the copyright section of unknowncountry.com

If this isn't an explanation of his continuing silence and hope for days to come, then I love me some George Noory! (NOT)  8)

JESUS H. CHRIST, I am sorry everyone, the last message I posted is so fucked format-wise that it may actually damage your vision if you attempt to read the quoted text.

It's alright, Guild Navigator; we understand that you sometimes snort too much spice.

EDIT: I fixed his post.  MV
