Keith and his lawyer have worked out some issues and the contract is getting a make-over. Art is chilling out until he gets the re-worked contract.

Does anyone remember the NBC Special on UFOs that was on several years ago?  Art and Ramona were in one of the segments.  I'm trying to find the link but not having any success.

fyi AMC channel is showing back-to-back "Day After Tomorrow" right now. I always watch it because of the cool effects, story, and in hopes that Art and Whitley get some $. I'm not sure how residuals work, or what their contract wa,s but I hope they get some, because channels like AMC tend to play it quite a bit and often right-after each other for some reason.

Haha, I get a statement every few Months and like magic it always comes out to zero. Sometimes I get a check for $1.31 for some tv show I did, never covers my SAG membership.

Ok, here is some possibly better news, Keith had a very good talk with them today and we have
a new deal being put together which means we could have a contract ready to sign by the end of the
Week he says. That is all I want, once we have that I will order the Studio gear. So once again the roller coaster
is headed up. Jeez.

No sorry, no idea. On another subject, still no agreement as yet. For something as easy as this should be, well it should have been done a long time ago. I wish I could tell you specifics so you could all share equally in my frustration, see what a friend I am.

Well, if and when the contract completes and things go good for you, and us, you should take a trip or something to celebrate.  If you've never been to California's Pescadero State Park (I used to live near it) it's a gorgeous place, a good place to commune with nature.  Or go out to Tucson and visit the desert museum with your wife and daughter, they will love it (it's part zoo, part museum, part desert trail with everything from India artifacts to a little cave with minerals in it).  Tucson also has the gigantic air museum, it's quite a thing, there's an SR71 and drone there, at least there used to be.

Or come visit us in New England, come to CT and try some Pepe's pizza in New Haven, we think it's the world's best pizza, you can read about it.  And if you come here, visit Groton and the sub base and all, and Mystic Seaport.

Basically, I hope we can all celebrate and that you can take a well deserved trip or some type of rejuvination.  Hang in there, Art!

Art, an off-topic question but recently I was listening to the Dark Matter show with Michael and Nicole Sebastian--the "dream team"--and at one point you said, "I just want to remind everybody that I'm armed."

As a fellow gun owner and shooting enthusiast, what are you into?  Plinking? hunting?  Do you CCW? 

I've heard you mention guns on occasion, here and there throughout the years and I always kind of wondered.

I wish I could tell you guys and gals the deal but I cant. I can tell you though that at the moment it is VERY frustrating and I do have a break point where I will say I am done and we gave it our best try and came at this deal in every way we could and it just was not going to work out.

It's not about money because it is a labor of love however the deal has to make sense. I will promise this, if it does not work out or if I just throw up my hands and say no more (close now) I will come on here and share with you all what went on.

***Come to think of it, the CBC has the infrastructure, and presumably the licences in place for podcasting world wide.  Is the CBC your big player?

Fair enough.  I hope you can just leave Keith to go at it and ignore it.  They know what you want and need and just let Keith bicker negotiate with them and ask him to only come back when it is something workable or with the news that it is at an end.  It does no good for me to give you useless advice like "don't stress", but there it is.  It isn't worth your health and if not this, there may be something down the road as podcasting starts to take off a little.  Hell, the CBC has online streaming and podcasts now- so it is not some obscure little industry anymore.  I only hope that they can hammer out something fair to the talent behind the podcasts in time to allow you to pursue it (even if it is a year or two away if this one does not work out...)

Totally understandable. Hopefully it doesn't come to that, though. Keith and the lawyer you said he has working on this should be able to sort through all the garbage from the other side. From what you are saying, it sounds like there is real question about whether your potential partner wants to actually make a deal. It seems like the terms you are looking for are pretty clear. Fingers crossed that a deal gets done.

Thanks for everything Art whatever the future brings. I'd have a lot more confidence of the deal succeeding if it was tilted more towards "designed to make money" rather than a labor of love.
